selected driver not found garageband

Hi there!

I have a new 2019 MacBook Air and am working in Garageband for my podcast. When I go to play back audio, I'll get a selected driver not found notification. This keeps me from hearing my audio on my speakers. I go into my Garageband Preferences and everything is checked correctly, but it still not recognizing my MacBook Air Speakers. So I restart Garageband and about two minutes later, same notification and issue. Has anyone else run into this problem? How have you fixed it? Thank you!

Hello apeachincal,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like the MacBook Air is able to play sound unless you are trying to play from within GarageBand. If the issue is isolated to this one app, I would recommend you use this article to help troubleshoot the issue.

If GarageBand for Mac won't open or play back your project

Please don't hesitate to let us know if the steps resolved your issue or if you need additional assistance.
