Brother HL-3170cdw trouble

How can I wirelessly connect a wireless Brother HL-3170cdw to MacAir? I am at my wits end by now. It wouldn't print anything without a cable from the old iMac either . Please help!

if you go to support.brother.com, you’ll see there is a firmware update and a driver update

Already tried AirPrint https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311

Thank you for your response. I’d tried that prior, it didn’t work. I also tried deleting all the printer drivers and re-installing, tried manual configuration. Giving up and using wires. Thanks again!
