Catalina OS only allows restore as a finder option for iOS Devices

I am not able to get sync control since updating to Catalina. I figure is must be something simple, but multiple web searches have not provided the answer.


Below is the iPhone and above is the iPad.



I would love to fix this.

Maybe you have tried this, but if not, fully power down

the iDevices and restart, once fully booted, plug back in.


Also, have you tried different cables? I say this as

it sounds as if the computer is thinking the iDevices are in some recovery

mode.


One other thing, try doing a PRAM reset on the Mac:

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on Mac - Apple Support

Sometimes after an OS update/upgrade the machine hardware

can get confused.
