Not enough disk space for iMovie on Catalina

My MacBook Air was just upgraded to Catalina and now when I try to add music clips to an existing project in iMovie, I get a message that says "Not Enough Disk Space: There is not enough disk space at the selected destination. Please choose another one or clear some space." My computer still has over 100 GB of space available so I know it isn't that. How do you get past this so I can do work in iMovie?

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.14

A redownload of iMovie will cure the "not enough disk space" problem.

To redownload iMovie, move the iMovie app from your Applications folder

to the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then sign in at the online app

store and redownload it. After you have successfully redownloaded and

everything works fine, you can empty the trash of your old app. If for

some reason you are not able to redownload, then move the iMovie app

from the trash back into the Applications folder.
