Thank you for your previous suggestion. I now hav3 a subscription to iTunes Match, and now HomePod is accessing my entire music library and I can control what to play from my iPad.

howver, is it possible to say..” hey Siri... play the beatles”..... Siri current response is I can’t find that...

any suggestions

HomePod Mini Won’t Play Music Library Reposting since Apple took my question down (I guess I'm not allowed to say that having products called Music and Apple Music makes explaining this issue complicated?) When I ask Siri on my new HomePod Mini to play something in my Music Library (thousands of songs I've owned for years), it says it can’t find the “song/artist in your music library.” But it’s there. I can play these songs from my iPhone or MacBook. From the iPhone or MacBook I can also manually change the audio output to go to the HomePod. But if I use Siri commands, the HomePod ONLY plays from…idk what to call it…it only plays from a small number of songs that were purchased and downloaded through iTunes years ago (like that infamous U2 album). I do not subscribe to Apple Music (nor am I interested). I just want to be able to ask it to play songs that I own that are in my Music Library. This person has my problem also. It already can’t play Spotify by voice command. If it won’t even play my own music from my own Music Library without manual intervention, what’s the point? I just need a speaker in my home office and wanted the higher quality sound from a HomePod. But, be honest with me, if I'm mainly going to listen to my personal Music Library or Spotify and have no intention of signing up for an Apple Music subscription, should I get a different speaker?

Ask Siri to play your music from your own library through the HomePod Mini I purchased a Homepod Mini and want to play music from my Itunes. Every time I ask Siri to play ANYTHING on the Homepod it only plays from Pandora, NEVER anything from my Library. Pandora is set as the default player but even if I change it to Apple Music then Siri just tells me I don't have an Apple Music subscription. Is it possible to play music from my own library on my Homepod without buying an Apple Music subscription? The Homepod is the restroom and I want to play music while I am in the shower, so I cannot bring my iPhone into the shower and use Airplay. I cannot find any answers on Apple support pages so I came here. Thanks in advance for any help/solutions anyone can offer.

HomePod Mini My HomePod Mini plays some of the songs in my iTunes Library but not all of them. When it does not play a song that is in my library SIRI always says "I cannot find that song in Apple Music". I do not subscribe to Apple Music. But it should play all the music purchased through iTunes and currently in my iCloud library. I do not understand why it does not play my music. I can call up the music on any of my Apple devices and have a song playing through my HomePod Mini. But that just reduces the Mini to being a Bluetooth speaker. Can anyone help me?

There are reports that iTunes Match users may have trouble playing their own playlists when HomePod is configured for voice recognition and multi-user support. If this is enabled you could try turning it off. See also Remote control for HomePod, not using AirPlay - Apple Community for a possible workaround to call up your media. Audio Handoff is now also an option where you select what you want on your iPhone, then hold it over the top of the HomePod to transfer it.

Not sure who you’re replying to. This is a new thread.

I don’t have iTunes Match so I’m not familiar with how it works accessing songs. I have Apple Music and with that it is possible to say “ hey Siri play The Beatles”.

Ok..thanks..I am not sure how I got away from my thread... thank you for responding I will looked into the differences between the two subscriptions and see if that is the issue........
