Limited flexibility with Music App

I recently upgraded to Mac OSX Catalina. Upon connecting my iPod to my Mac, I encountered problems with viewing my iPod songs via the new Music app.

Firstly, the option to view playlists I made through my iPod, is not there anymore. I can't add a field to sort my songs through "date added". It's as if this new update took more things away than we gained.

Is there a way I can view my playlists and have more flexibility with my iPod on the new Music app?

Cheers.

To remove items from the device use Finder > Device > Manage Storage. As noted Music is much more limited than iTunes in what it can do with the library on a connected device. You either need to create/edit playlists directly on the device, or create them in Music and add to the device. Syncing with selected playlists from a library will give you greater control than manual management. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community if you need to reclaim the media on the device into your local library.

Hello

I'm sorry, I am not needing to sync music into my iPod. I am expressing concern about how I can do very little things with my iPod now, thanks to the Catalina upgrade. I cannot delete any music on my iPod, let alone renaming songs on them. Furthermore the format shows up differently when it shows my iPod music, as opposed to my computer music There's nothing I can do.
