Magnified external display following Catalina update

Hello. I've updated to Catalina and now everything on my external display is magnified and I can't seem to find a way to reduce it to the way it was before. Everything from the screensaver on the desktop to the icons and any program I open. Any ideas? The display on my Macbook Pro is fine it is just when I hook it up to the external display that it is magnified. I am using a Lenovo Thinkvision screen - the 44" curved screen. Thanks for any help!

Try using extended desktop mode instead of mirror display mode. Mirror display also mirrors the display resolution. Extended desktop mode allows you to select the native resolution of the external display.
