Apple Mail - 'Unable to verify account name or password'

I'm trying to add my Exchange email account to apple mail after deleting it (due to server connection all of a sudden being lost), but despite entering the correct account details in the Mail Preferences set up, I continually get a 'Unable to verify account name or password' message. This is despite the details entered being correct (and I've triple checked these are correct). Please can anyone help, it's sooooo frustrating! Thanks!

IOS is macOS Mojave 10.14.6
