Syncing my iPad to Mac

So basically I updates my OS to Catalina but now when I sync I cant see that loading bar on how much is more before fully sync? What do I do to see the loading bar?

There is a circular symbol next to your device in Finder.

Uhm, so what happens if I sync it then the circle thing won't pop up only an eject button do I just repeat it?
