Core Audio panic

This is interesting. Using A cloud instrument in 25 track audio and AU project. Running a 2015 4ghz iMac with Logic 10.4.4 and Mojave 10.14.6. Apogee interface, 32GB of RAM, SSD System disk and external SSDs for samples and project. All running fine for ages, but today if I focus on the instrument and hit space bar to play -all good with CPU/Audio activity meter showing activity at around 10% across all cores. If I stop and shift track focus to an audio track with a recording on, press play - major core audio panic. If I resume focus on instrument track hit play all good.

seems not to be any other issues at all and similar if I open a new project.

I’ve dropped a support ticket to cloud provider, but just wondering if there’s anything else going off?

cheers

Ok. I tried 10.4.8 and it seems to resolve this issue. So despite some misgivings I'm going to give 10.4.8 a full try out in the studio (despite the Midi transform bug - which I can find a workaround for).

I’m recording to my external SSD, the audio track doesn’t have any plugins on it. I’ve heard back from the cloud instrument support team (Roland Cloud) and the say it’s not related to any of the authentication software running and the synth instrument in question is not recently updated and they cannot replicate the issue. So I’m puzzled. I’ve tried using in built output and still happens. WiFi off, saving to different drives, no difference. I’m going to try updating logic to 10.4.8 (I have tried this but it had an unresolved midi bug so I went back to 10.4.4) and see if that resolves it.

If I delete the plugin everything is ok. I’ve never seen this behaviour before with these plugins. My sample rate is 48khz, no change there for years.

the core audio panic only occurs when moving focus from the AU synth and highlighting (any) audio track, stopping and starting play. Thing is the only changes to my system was update to latest KONTAKT player and Roland Cloud Manager. The latter appears not to be an issue according to Roland, although if I select an Arturia instrument and move to an audio track no issue.

Aside from this, my system is solid and has been for months which is why I’m foxed!
