Backup iPhone to Mac

I recently switched from android to iPhone and want to back my iPhone up to my MacBook, however when I plug my phone into my MacBook it’s trying to set it up as a new phone. Any ideas how I get around this so I can just back it up as it’s set up perfectly now??

iPhone 11, iOS 13

Just wanted to ensure that you are using the right procedure to create a backup on your computer. Please follow the instructions from this article How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Hope that helps. If it does not then let us know and one of us will try and help you. Thanks.
