My phone's processor has been damaged

Hi there,

I hope my email finds you in good health. My name is Arslan and live in Pakistan. I bought an Iphone 6 Plus from the US (Apple Store, Tacoma, WA) in 2017. However, it has been switched off last year and not turning on. It does not even pick up charger or show anything on screen. Since there was no authorised apply vendor in Pakistan, I took it to a local but famous mobile repair shop. They told me that the processor of my phone has been fused (damaged) ostensibly due to high or low voltages in the country. And further, he told me that it was permanantly damaged. And there was no solution to this problem. My warranty has also expired. I have my very personal data in it that I could not even put up on iCould.

What should I do now? What are my options?

Regards,

Muhammad Arslan,

Pakistan.

Well - the repair is generally limited to the country of purchase.

What Apple would offer is a complete replacement in the United States with no offer to recover the data. That it's now in Pakistan means that local authorized service providers are unlikely to provide that solution.

If the processor has been damaged, there's pretty much no way to recover the data. You need at minimum the original working processors and the same flash memory to recover the data.
