Logic Pro Library Storage

I dont have 60 gigs on my mac so I assume I can get an external SSD drive and store the sound libraries there. Correct?

Recent versions of Logic have a command to relocate the Sound Library on an external drive.


Move Logic Pro X and MainStage content - Apple Support


First, let Logic downloads the Essential Content (~2 GB). The relocate the Sound Library.


After that you can download the rest of the Library. It will be installed on the external drive.


One caveat: The Library content is first downloaded on the main drive before it is installed on the external drive. You need to keep enough free space on the main drive for that. To mitigate this download the Library piece by piece.
