when attempting to open a downloaded install folder for a given application, I(.dmg) I receive error code that it is damaged and forces me to move the file to trash ....

I have seen this asked in several different ways but have not noted any answers....


when attempting to open a downloaded installl folder for a given application, I(.dmg) I receive error code that it is damaged and forces me to move the file to trash ....


these applications are typically not from the App Store, but I am not simply prompted if I ":want to trust" but rather forced to trash it. I have attempted to set my preferences to allow the downloads of App Store and other developer files, but it seems to have no impact. examples: google chrome, adobe acrobat reader, etc....

typically a slow internet connection is a one way for .dmg downloads to become corrupt/damaged.


Try a faster Network if yours is suspect or an Ethernet connection in an effort to resolve.

Use network locations on Mac - Apple Support
