why are my word documents saving as read only?
Hello,
Lately, all my word documents are why are saving as read only and I have to duplicate it to open it. Can some instruct me how to stop this from happening?

The documents must be saved to desktop because the problem is with iCloud. I dragged the document to desktop and it was no longer read only.

Do you have iCloud Drive enabled maybe?
What path are they saving to?
I am not sure if iCloud is on. They are saving to a folder I created in word document (docx.) format
I have noticed that my documents only become read only once I close them and reopen them. I still can't figure out how to stop this from happening. Any advise is welcomed and needed.
