Does anyone else have the issue of using an original Magic Mouse (1)A1296 with iPadOS 13.4 and can’t get it to scroll using the gesture?
Is there something I can do to fix it? Or is this just the way to force us vying MM2?
turn on/off, re-pairing doesn’t help at all.
I also get this warning:

As per https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211008 "iPadOS doesn't support scrolling or other gestures with Apple Magic Mouse (1st generation) and Magic Trackpad (1st generation)". This is unacceptable and there is no way this is a "Hardware" restriction as the mouse sends a digital signal to the computer (or iPad) and the software is responsible for translating and executing the instructions. I really never say this (or feel this way about Apple) but this is a perfect example of Apple restricting something for no reason other than to get you to purchase a new product. All they need to do is (for lack of a better way of putting it) unlock this feature. It isn't even a feature, it is something Mice have been doing for decades.... As I did, all you can do is put in feedback at apple.com/feedback and maybe if enough people complain they will fix it.... Very unnecessarily frustrating...
There is a statement in this Apple Support page that says that Magic Mouse (1st Gen) and Magic Trackpad (1st Gen) do not support scrolling or gestures.

This is very disappointing.
Mouse not working again. I followed somebodies instruction to turn off assistive touch and reboot and then reconnect. Now the two keyboards work and the mouse did for a while but then started messing up again. I have a new mouse ordered that runs on Bluetooth 3 I will see if that one works any better. Also, the wifi does not work as well as a Kindle Fire. I can watch internet videos just fine on the Kindle where the iPad won't even connect. I have to move the iPad closer to the router. This is my first iPad and so far I am disappointed. The keyboards and the mouse I have works as sweet as can be on the Android tablet.
Exactly - so you can use scrolling without buying anything more from Apple. What you have to do is to contribute more to climate change by buying another mouse (while having a perfectly good one).
So frustrated about this. The most ridiculous thing about it is my ancient Mighty Mouse works perfectly with full scrolling support. Totally bizarre decision making from Apple.
