Strange files

Today I opened some external hard drives connected to my Mac and found these strange files that I cannot open. (Screenshots below) Can anybody identify that they are? Should I be concerned?

why do I have these weird files on my computer and are they safe to delete? Here is what I am talking about. ( I am praying that it's not just a bunch of viruses, I don't think I have done anything that could have given me a virus ). I am willing to format my mac if needed, but I would prefer an expert's advice before I do just so that I can save some files on a USB (if possible) and I don't know how to format a mac either. Strange Files in Computer After downloading a recovery software program, I noticed some anomalous files when I opened my hard drive screen. I do not know where they came from and they will not let me delete them. Please help me!

Help with strange files automatically saving on SSD Hi! I've recently encountered something strange going on when i connect an external SSD to my mac. I've been using the same SSD for a long time and have never had this happen to me before so wanted to see if anyone knew a way around this issue. When i recently opened the SSD files the four documents/folders highlighted in red below had somehow found their way onto my hard drive. Each time i delete these files my and eject my SSD, the next time I plug it in I'm prompted to use the device for TimeMachine backups?! another thing that's never happened before. I didn't place these files here intentionally and would love to know how to get rid of them, without them spawning back onto my SSD each time i plug it in. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What files are you referring to?

If you mean the files with a . at the beginning of the name, those are system files/folders.

I was assuming that might be what they are. I just never encountered them before and was a tad paranoid. Thank you for the reassurance!
