iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a fix in the next update. My 6s has been on the battery roller coaster since ios 13 came out. Tried all the suggested resets, fresh install, just not the kitchen sink. I am at battery health of 94%. Last night I watched my battery literally count down a total of 35% (dropping from 70 to 35%) with 7 mins of looking at Twitter (left side screen grab below). I proceeded with a hard reset and it went back up to a reading of 59% (right side screen grab below). It's bizarre to say the least. The actual battery percentage (not what is displayed) is a true mystery at all times. There have been days where it has dropped to 1% and stayed there for hours????. Fingers crossed for a fix soon. Any other suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you
Further, Here is my XS Max. Haven't used it much at all the entire day -- in fact it was on it's wireless charger overnight and most of the day. Notice how even the Settings app shows a very quick discharge here -- I've never seen such a steep slope like that until 13.4.1 and also it states that the screen was off for 0 minutes during the 24 hours. Either that's an issue with the way the Settings app is measuring the battery or something is majorly wrong with the system idle process with would make a lot of sense at to why my battery is draining by about 30% in 2-3 hours of little to no use.
Phone would make it through an entire day with usually 20-30% battery left by the time I went to sleep. Phone is now at 40% battery within 3-4 hours of me WAKING UP.
I’m sure pretty sure you don’t know what restoring an iPhone actually does. Restoring an iPhone can resolve software-related issues that have come up since you will load a “clean” version of iOS onto the iPhone.
After certain updates, your iPhone might do something called “re-indexing”. This is a background process and it might cause your iPhone battery to drain a little faster than usual. This is not a software issue but rather something that enhances performance over the long run. The process is usually completed in about 24-48 hours.
This discussion is about an update from an unknown version of iOS to iOS 13.4.

I do not appreciate your attitude towards other people on this platform who are trying to help others.

The problem lies not with your device, but with the iOS itself.
That is ABSOLUTE BS. If it is true why don’t my 4 iOS devices have any problem with battery life on iOS 13.4? Why aren’t there tens of thousands of posts about it?

Oh, really? Prove me wrong then! Or, have the huge number of people who have suddenly developed mass-battery-drain all done exactly the same thing, to cause the problems?
I’ve just proved you wrong with 4 devices on iOS 13.4 that have no problems with battery life.
So five phones don't exhibit the problem. Well, that conclusively proves there isn't a problem, right everyone?!
Errr, clearly, no it does nothing of the sort! But way-to-go on trying to pull that little "If I can't see it, it doesn't exist" stunt!
I never said ALL DEVICES. Try reading what I write, not making assumptions about what you think I've written!
There is something in the iOS that is causing many devices to drain the battery much faster than usual. So please come back when you can offer some actual useful support to all of the many threads in these Apple Discussion Forums, that will actually fix the problem.
Mr Finch, with all due deference:
1) "You’ve already been given good advice that works". No, it doesn't work, and that's why I'm rejecting it. If it worked, I wouldn't be here complaining about it further.
2) Do you not think many of us have tried all of these options? Sometimes more than once?
4) Until someone DOES solve this problem, then I'm afraid I will continue to post on here. If all it took, as you say: "a restore to factory settings, followed by restoring a backup", then we'd all be doing that, and all be happy, because - as you say - it ."will always fix it"
Sometimes, the old tech adage of switching something off and on again, or in this case, wiping and restoring an iPhone, DOESN'T actually work.
You need to understand this, and if you don't want too, that's fine, but don't then complain if I keep coming back on here wanting an explanation as to why this issue isn't being solved quicker by Apple.

Again, you make assumptions, based on facts not in evidence. I never stated that other iOS's did or did not have any issues with them. So I don't need to explain anything. The only thing that does need explaining, is why - after all of this time - Apple keeps making such flawed iOS's, if each of the various other ones have all had the same problem.
Some previous iOS's have exhibited problems for me. Some haven't. Some of those problems have been major. Some haven't. Some have fixed themselves. Many haven't.
This doesn't take away from the fact, that the problems exist (or existed) in the first place. It doens't mean that because all of the problems eventually got resolved, that this one won't be similarly resolved.
But the assumption that we've all got plenty of time to waste hours or days of our busy lives, fixing things like this, each time Apple does an update, is what ultimately annoys me. I don't expect perfection from an iOS, but it should not exhibit major flaws like excessive and unexplained battery drain.
You may enjoy spending hours fixing your tech problems. I don't. Nor do many others. We all understand that tech is flawed, complex, and has problems. But that doesn't take away from the fact that iOS 13.3.1 is a mess, and 13.4 doesn't fix the issue.
Until it does, accept the fact that I (and others) will continue to complain about it, until it does get fixed.
You’re SO right man! This happens to me for such a long time ever since the first iOS 13 version and it has been present until now. Battery drains faster than what of iOS 12.4.1. It is sooo bad. It is so frustrating. I have made countless reports to Apple and they aren’t even responding. Currently on iOS 13.4 on iPhone XS.
Things got so bad to me on my XS with iOS 13.3.1 that I eventually gave up and made the switch to the XR. Things seem so much better battery wise - lasts all day, bigger display and I really didn’t miss the Telephoto lens after a week or so.
Apple can’t seem to get battery life right - and there’s a real issue on the XS.
So after following all of Mr Finch's amazing expertise, guess what? Still got a quickly draining battery, and now I'm on iOS 13.4, I now have a new, secondary problem, that I didn't have beforehand - MP4 files that I've added onto my iPhone to watch, are now not showing up at all in the "TV" app.

I can help you with that, have iOS 13.4, but I am having a little battery drain, make sure mobile data is off drains your goddamn battery like crazy, make sure background that profession is off, make sure you have low power mode on, make sure that you don’t have apps like Facebook or other apps that use your location as it may drain your battery like dam well, Make sure that you have auto lock set for 30 seconds, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS, try turning off your phone, in your phone, what iPhone do you have, connected to iTunes and restore it to factory or faults noted if you have iCloud on you must know your Apple ID password because activation lock will be stuck off/on you’ll be able to do an iCloud or iTunes back up I’ll probably bother, hope this helps
