I found that the Fox News app and Siri appeared to be causing the major battery drain on my XR phone. Before iOS 13.4 my battery would last for a day or more. After installation it would drain over night with no usage. I deleted the Fox News app and turned off Siri and all app data that was being shared with Siri. My battery life improved dramatically. Hopping for a fix in iOS 13.4.1.

what's interesting is that I'm having the battery drain issue on my iPad Pro, but not on my iPhone 11. Both were updated to the latest iOS at the same time (Saturday evening). even more interesting is that my iPad gave me the "Low Battery" warning at 10%, so I did a "Hard Reset", and when it came back on, the battery was at 15%. Not huge, but hoping perhaps the hard reset might have fixed it? Recharging the iPad now. Will know later today if it worked. iPhone 11 was used extensively yesterday and battery drain seemed the same as before. Made it through the day with about 25% remaining.

Yes it has to be the new update.....Mine was draining really fast....The battery said 87% but the phone is 5 years old so I thought okay buy a new battery,,,so I did...Now it says 100% maximum capacity and it still drains just as fast as the old one...Closed down all my apps and something is still draining it down even when I don't use it..Mine is a 6S..Also noted after the update certain apps wouldn't open,,,,,,

Have the exact same problem with my 12.9 iPad Pro 2018. Drains 10-20% per night on standby! Tried everything (reset all settings, erasing and restoring via itunes and all the battery saving recommendations) all more than once. It started happening when I upgraded from ios 12 to ios13. None of the multiple updates since then have fixed it. Before ios13 battery had practically no change on standby like my old iPad 2 that still lasts more than a month on standby. Hoped 13.4 would fix it but again...disappointed. When I first started with this problem there very few blogs about it. It seems there is a lot more people having the problem now. Hope it serves Apple so as to do something about it!

No, they are a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple.

If you know it is a bug what is the bug? Does it affect all devices everywhere? Why aren't mine doing it?

On each device have you gone to Settings > Battery to see what processes/apps are using the most battery?

How long has it been since you updated.

Are there certain apps that are on each one of the devices?

How much code have you written in the past and what debug methods do you use?

I would start with Settings > Battery and try to see if perhaps an app you have on all the devices is misbehaving and needs to be updated.

I do not code but when all devices that i have behave the same, there is nothing but common sense that kick in and tells me it has to be a bug. Why you devices do not have this problem I don't know, i also had this that my devices work and not others that does not mean that there is no glitch in the software.

I have not changed anything or installed anything, since the update on all devices, I have not used them any different.

on my phone it says gmail 30% of the battery used by gmail and the same app on ipad 5% on applewatch i cant see.

but as i said im not using them any different and on the batery section you se off course also what app you use the most that not neccesary mean it uses the most battery on standby?

There are miljon of iphones, ipads, apple watches diffrent models all with their unic setups and if i have the same setup as before and i dont change my usage habbits then the bateri drainage should remain the same, as i said i only had this problem with batteri drain twice before which isnt much and both yimes during beta testing, that is why i left the beta program. Im sure this will be fixed by the next update.

Deggle - By your analogy that "you will find that there are people complaining about their battery draining with EVERY update that has ever been released", it could be argued that Apple's iOS's aren't very good, if all keep causing battery drain.

However, no one can prove that they are or are not to blame.

That said, it seems odd to my mind, that people had working devices, installed the update, and then suddenly have hugely draining battery issues straight after.

I reiterate that if the only thing people have ALL done is the update, then logic (rather than accusations, misdirection or deliberate shifting-of-the-blame) would dictate the update is the source of the problem.

But, if Apple Discussion Forum people keep on denying that there's a problem, and consistantly keep trying to pass the buck back onto the user and their devices, then all that happens is people get angry.

I get why Apple doesn't want to admit there's a fault.

I get why YOU Apple Discussion Forum people don't want to admit that there might be a fault.

But just sticking your proverbial heads in the sand, and blaming users and their devices just makes you all look delusional, and hacks-off all the people who now have devices that now need to be repeatedly charged (or at least, have to be tethered to a power source) to remain useable.

Regardless, of who or what is to blame, Apple and Apple Discussion Forums people need to cease the "It's not the iOS, it's you and your device" rhetoric!

I have joined the group to try and solve the problem of a rapidly-draining battery, and the response of "Just restore your iDevice" or "Wipe it, then try adding apps back one-at-a-time until you determine which one is the problem" is just an absolute farce!

People cannot waste hours/days on this issue, everytime it happens - regardless of why it happens.

Frankly, I honestly believe that none of the Apple Discussion Forum people have any answers to this problem, but rather than just admit that they don't know, they actively encourage "spin" to deflect any issues away from them.

That may not be the case, but it's certainly how it comes across looking at these Forum threads each day.

Life's too short for this!

Apple Discussion Forums people should be better than this.

So should the Forums themselves.

Right now, it just feels like a load of big kids bullying the littler kids into a corner, simply because they can, and the big kids have been ordered by Faculty to "Deny everything, no matter what, until people give up".

The battery drain issue on my iPad Pro running 13.4 has been resolved. I went through all of my apps and deleted any app I hadn’t used it over a year (over a dozen). Then I did a hard restart on the device, it has been running fine ever since. So it was most likely an old app that was causing the battery drain. I recommend anyone with the same issue on an iPhone or an iPad Try something similar. Good luck!
