Hello,
First, you can check your battery status in the Settings app through Setting > Battery > Battery Health. Any level under 80% indicates that you could very well experience battery problems due to aging of the battery.
If your battery starts draining much faster after a software update and the battery health is fine, you could try restoring your iPhone using Finder (on a Mac) or iTunes (on a PC). You can find instructions on how to do that at:
Please ensure you first make a backup in iCloud so you can restore it after restoring the iPhone.

Where did i patronize you? EVERY iPhone is different and I gave examples of things that have happened to me and others that I have helped in the past. And my last post was not even directed to you so why are you upset?
Who put the new battery in your iPhone and when? You may have a defective power management IC.
I contacted Apple support on 3/26/2020 due to rapid battery drain on my iphone SE. This seemed to happen after upgrading to ios 13.4. My battery Maximum Capacity is at 100%. The Apple support person assisted me with the "Wipe and restore" process. It didn't seem to help. Today I upgraded to ios 13.4.1. I hope this fixes the problem.
iPhone Xs Max User:
This is quite frustrating. I upgraded to 13.4 (now 13.4.1) and I could tell within an instant something wasn't right with the battery. The battery drains at least 3x faster than before without even touching it. To test I tried the following:
Due to our current situation, I have tried everything possible and without a doubt it's an issue with the OS>type of device.
-Turn off location services
-Turn off Find my iPhone
-Turn off Background App Refresh
-Stop all applications, soft reset/hard reset
Nothing has panned out.
I haven't done the old "Wipe/Reload" Apple uses tells us which I'll certainly try this morning..
Anyway to get back to 13.3.1? I figure it will be awhile before this is fixed but it's obviously is specific to the Xs Max from what I've been reading.
Stay safe!
I have an iPhone 7, and my daughter has an 8. Both of us have experienced a set of issues, most notably excessively fast battery drain, in the last 72 hours. We think it's associated with 13.4.1 installation.
Previously, I'd end the day with 40-60% battery remaining on an average day. Now the phone is dead before end of day.
I’m seeing the same problem after updating to 13.4 and 13.4.1 didn’t fix it. It’s not very dramatic but I used to have lots of juice left after a normal days use and now it gets below 20% at the end of the day. I have an XR and the battery capacity shows 98%. No apps show extremely high usage.
I’m not going to follow all the advice here, but will hope for some update which hopefully may solve it. The reason why not all users may experience this, may have to do with different configurations or setup, but when all comes around, simple logic indicates that it’s probably iOS-related, since people haven’t done anything but to update.
I’ll offer my anecdote to show how a problem may occur which can’t be solved by any of the solutions offered.
Both my wife and I had iPhones SE and hers started to heat up during a visit to Brazil and in the end the battery started to bulge and she turned it off for good. Why this happened neither one of us know and the phone was destroyed.
But soon after my phone began to heat up as well and the battery drained fast. I went through all the hoops and loops suggested by the smart ones here. Nothing helped. I got my phone replaced since it was within warranty but the problem continued. I was in contact with support at Apple and they were extremely helpful and together we went through even more hoops and loops but to no avail.
I don’t remember exactly why and how I stumbled across the solution, but I somehow thought that it had to do with a work mail I had, which is basically gmail but adapted to fit in with the newspaper I work for, so it doesn’t say gmail.com if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I had added it to Apple’s Mail, but for some reason it sent requests for it constantly, I mean without pause, like some denial of service-attack of sorts. I deleted it in Mail and added it to Google’s own mail app - et voilá - problem solved. The phone became normal.
That didn’t explain why the battery of my wife’s phone exploded, and neither do I know why it didn’t work as it should with Mail. But it does suggest that the problem doesn’t lie with the user, but probably has to do with some bug or other in Mail, which doesn’t exist in Google’s client. And the same setup had been working previously, but after one update it began misbehaving.
To sum it up; when users haven’t done anything other than a normal update, it shouldn’t rest on the user to fix the problem. In my case I finally fixed it and no technical advice was of any help - and I still don’t know the real reason for the problem.
Well, I updated to 13.4.1., and - guess what - battery still drains massively, though admittedly not as fast as before.
However, my iPhone 6S+ (128gb) is still losing around 50% of the battery by lunchtime, and down to 20% by mid-afternoon, necessitating at least one daily recharge.
Despite telephoning Apple, as all the stores are shut, all they could do was tell me to do a backup, then wipe the iPhone, before setting it up as a new device, then reinstalling the backup.
I spent several hours doing this yesterday, and it has given me no real improvement.
As others have said, these Forums aren't read by Apple (despite them running them, and censoring them too), so you have to wonder what the point is when solutions aren't easy to locate, or - as in this case - the solution is the same old "wipe/restore" scenario.
The fault has to be in the iOS itself which is running some proces in the background, and is causing people's devices to drain the battery like mad, and - in some cases - massively overheat too.
I also fear that it may have something to do with the iOS not recognising when the device is off or powered down, as according to my device, it says my iPhone was on for more than 8 hours yesterday, but off for less than 5 minutes.
That cannot be correct.
iOS13.4 or 13.4.1 clearly believes a device is "on" all of the time, even when it isn't, and that's why I think it's causing the problems it is doing.
Seeing as the only thing all of us have done, is upgrade the iOS, it cannot be anything but the iOS itself.
The sooner we get iOS 13.5 or 14.0 the better!
I just hope Apple doesn't introduce a whole load of other problems into the mix.

If you guys missed previous posts....the solution is to do nothing. As has occurred in the past, the battery is draining because it is being utilized internally as the phone “reformats its hardrive” to improve file access/operation, etc.. Stop freaking out, things will return to normal after a few days.
There are YouTube videos to demonstrate the battery life is improved on the new models and about the same on older ones. Perhaps ios13.4 shows improved multicore utilization?
This is 1000% confirmed iOS 13.4 update problem. This is utterly ridiculous. I have 2 phones, as soon as i updated to 13.4 the phone that used to last for days dies within a few hours. To confirm my theory I updated a 3rd phone (bad move) and exact same issue, battery drains exponential in matter of hours. Apple needs to resolve this ASAP! this is totally messed up.
No matter what kind of battery life you are getting I would plan on getting the battery replaced as soon as you can. A lithium polymer battery with. that low of health can begin to swell causing damage to your phone.
It is clear that Apple do not review these discussions. I would suggest that everyone with the battery draining problem contacts their support, they’ll call you so it won’t cost anything except more of your time.
Hopefully the increased number of support queries will prompt them into finally taking this problem seriously.
I recently have had problems with my iphone 6s shutting down due to low power even though it was fully charged and had the battery replaced a few months ago by apple authorized service. I talked to tech support who could only offer that I back up and try a restore. I did this with no improvement. I decided to to order a new SE which should arrive next week.
meanwhile a went to visit a freind and found out that his wifes 6s experienced the exact same problem. This is no coincidence appartently IOS 13.4 has some serious issues. Given what I know now I'm not sure I want a new iphone maybe android would be better.
The problem with your argument is not all people are having problems with battery life so there is no line of code that Apple inserted that is causing everyone to have bad battery life so there can't be a global fix. You are describing different devices that are having the problem (well not the Appel TV, it has no battery) but probably what they have in common is certain applications, services, etc. If you have already done what you can to track that down then contact Apple so they can try to figure out what is going on and add the solution in iOS 13.4.5.
This is from Forbes magazine from yesterday. This is the headline.
Apple Confirms New Warning Affecting Almost All iPhone Users
conclude as you wish but seems months of denial and false solutions/suggestions have been time/ money wasted. Let’s hope this patch comes soon!
i did mine by clean installing ios 13.4.1... now the battery give me 2hrs with sim in it and data off but i get full day without sim "wifi only"....i get only one signal bar and causes my phone to overheat, so now i use it without sim
