Thanks for joining here to post this. I needed a new person to explain things to me.

No, your analogy is not correct it does not mean that every iOS is bad. If Mr. Jobs had stuck to his original plan for the iPhone and not allowed 3rd part apps other than AJAX and web based apps then updates wouldn't have had this effect. In fact the ones prior to opening the app store didn't have the issue.

And there has been an Apple update some time back that had everyone, bar none, having a problem. A global bug. But since the App Store opened and there were updates people have posted about battery issues after updates. I've had battery issues after updates. The app that most often caused my issues was Facebook. I would either have to delete it and add it back or (more often) wait for one of the routine updates from Facebook. I've had a few other apps (looking at you Instagram) that did the same thing.

The person I was responding to and though it better to ignore does have an apparent problem with Gmail. Even if they are using it more on one device a difference of 30% between devices is not normal. I would guess that is one of his issues. That is the only one he posted a percentage.

I'm not denying everything, defending everything, yada, yada, yada, just asking questions and trying to help people determine what is their battery drain problem. Of course if that person wants to go to the effort they could do archive backups on all their devices then run them as a new device for 24 hours. If the battery drain disappears then it is not the update, it is the interface with the update and some app or apps.

If you take actually doing realistic diagnosis as "spin" that is your problem. If you don't like the answers that I and others give then ignore my posts. How long have you been here?

#2 There aren't that many applications that actually run in the background but a good thing to check.

#7 I've never used any sort of regime for charging but with Lithium Polymer batteries it is a bad idea to totally deplete them.

#8 No certified Qi charger will make it overheat and since the iPhone will only draw at the 7.5 level it shouldn't overheat at all. None of my wireless chargers have done this. Using the Apple 18W battery with a USB-C cable will heat up the iPhone more than any Qi charger would and there is nothing that shows it will "significantly reduce serviceability", whatever that means.

#11 Worth a shot but neither method is intrinsically better than the other.

Sorry but this does nothing. I just did my update yesterday and my battery is draining and taking forever to recharge today. The first update that caused major problems last year did the same thing and then it finally corrected itself once another update was done. I can guarantee that I will not do another update to my phone unless I have too. Apple needs to make sure it works before making it available.

Skiffy no use making platItudes doesn’t help anyone .

We need to here your experiences = It doesn’t work is not helpful - Indeed if you really want APPLE to know and potentially address the issue in 13.4.1 those questions asked need YOUR answers.

Millions of iPhones and IPads aren’t experiencing slow downs or battery issues right now however finding a common denominator for those that Are will certainly help.

If you want to go spend your own money get an Android powered device no one here’s going to stop you thats for sure .

However do go read the the relevant online manufacturers support pages - think you’ll find similar Android Q killed my ......... or why won’t my phone/network allow me to update from ..................

Somewhere else I don’t believe you period !

Almost no one on an iPad has reported battery issues , however some with iPhones 6s (this has a pre-existing battery issue addressed by Apple with a free battery upgrade ) and I see some 7 models .

Both these if used frequently and charged are certainly closing in on their cycle lives anyway no disrespect.

I suggest something you have running in the back ground and probably on all your devices is the likely cause to be honest.

Happily I’ll go away -Gotta do some work and tests on 13.4.5 and my apps . So clearly anything I find under NGO that might help here you won’t/can’t know . Have a nice day.

Still do check those running background apps I assure you one is the culprit and it might indeed be an Apple task !
