iOS update issues on my iPhone 7 Plus

I updated the new iOS to 13.4 now when I try to make a phone call I can’t hear anything and vice versa. The speaker part on the phoned is greyed out, everything else on my phone works my phone will ring, speakers work, etc.

theres nothing in my settings that will allow me to delete the updated version. I’ve restarted it to no avail. I don’t wait to reset to factory settings. Is anyone else having this issue and is Apple doing anything to resolve this? Like I said this happened after the update so I know that’s what’s causing this.

thank you.

This is a horrible and ridiculous . Apple support will not accept their issue and they ran tests and said there is no hardware issue with my phone. Its clearly a software issue. I have patiently waited for 3 updates 14.0.1, 14.1 and 14.2 there is still no fix. Is this some kind of strategy to get people to buy the new phone. Apple support if you tell them that 100s of people have the same issue of microphone not working they seem to be so ignorant and repeat the same checklist which is of no use . Phone only works on bluetooth .

I am having the same issue. My phone will only allow me to make calls if connected to bluetooth, The Speaker is Greyed out and I am not able to hear anyone nor can they hear me. Sometimes when I try to make a call it will cancel the call and say "Call Failed" It started 3 days ago. Its such an inconvenience and there is no way I should have to upgrade to a new phone at my expense. Apple should replace our phones.

My AUTISTIC son can NO LONGER MAKE calls to me because of YOUR IPHONE 7 grayed out error, APPLE!!!

We’re in a PANDEMIC, we’be lost JOBS, can BARELY eat or pay for HOUSING, & NOW you won’t FIX what’s OBVIOUSLY your FLAW in a disabled kid’s iPhone 7 (that is CLEARLY an Apple flaw!!!!). Apple; you’ve hit an ALL TIME low. And to THINK that this autistic kiddo has a 4.6 GPA & a DREAM to be a leading IT... he IDOLIZES Steve Jobs. Apple.... replace HIS IPHONE!!!!!

Dont say it is an "4 year old phone". If APPLE was determined to kill all old phone by giving out a flaw iOS so they can sell more new phones? Forget it. I have switched to Samsung already because no one can live with this inconvenience (using Bluetooth airpods for receiving phone calls, video without sounds). I will still complaining them about this flaw caused to my iPhone7P as it was apparently their fault! Customers/consumers are not deserved to this!

What do you think? Remember the Samsungs that were banned from airplanes because the spontaneously caught fire?

More seriously, all portable electronics are likely to fail after a few years given the way most people handle them. And they will always be obsolete fairly soon. There have been 14 models of iPhones released since the iPhone 7.

False. THIS iPhone 7 is LESS than FOUR months old. It was a replacement for an iPhone SE (under ATT insurance). So, no.... it’s not “due to it being an old phone”. It’s an APPLE issue.

it’s ALLLLLLLL over the place wherein this particular iPhone 7 STOPS functioning within its ability to call out/receive calls after certain IOS updates. It’s a no brainer.
