MBP 16" 2019 CRASHES WHILE SLEEPING

ANYONE else having a problem with their MacBook Pro going to sleep then crashing? EVERY single day for 4 days now this prompt comes up that says "Your computer was restarted because of a problem." I Purchased a fully loaded 16" MacBook Pro January 2020. A $5000.00 Computer. I have had NOTHING but issue since. The report begins with panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8004a91b2c): Sleep transition timed out after 180 seconds while calling power state change callbacks. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily. Thread 0x1fbc0. After searching I see 582 people have this same problem...REALLY APPLE? Suggestions were made to others who called apple support and they reinstalled their entire systems, reinstalled this, reinstalled that...I don't know about anyone else but I don't have time for all of that nonsense ESPECIALLY after spending $5k on a computer. Finally I found where a person requested the logic board to be replaced and the issue stopped. If Apple can't get their quality assurance in check I will be spending my money elsewhere. I want this computer replaced.

I am having the same issue. I too purchased the loaded Macbook pro at the beginning of the year for $5000. After a long call with Apple Care, they recommended that I bring it in for servicing. They had to replace the logic board, the touch bar, and the battery. It worked well for awhile, but began to crash all the time when it's in sleep. I have reinstalled the software countless times, reset the SMC, gone through to make sure all apps are up to date, deleted a bunch of old files, and still nothing. Here is the beginning of what I get after every crash. if anyone has a recommend, I'm all ears. I make my living working on this computer, so I really need it solved.

Two days ago I received my 2019 16" ($3,600) MBP replacing my 2015 MBP...

...and with a clean from the factory install, no applications loaded, no settings changed, first time it went to sleep it crashed. Second time it went to sleep it crashed. It has continued to crash EVERY SINGLE TIME it goes to sleep since then.

I am EXTREMELY unhappy. I was considering switching to a PC and now really regret my decision to stick with Apple. More confirmation that Apple products have continued to get worse and worse with every release... A $3,600 laptop with average hardware SHOULD NOT CRASH NEW OUT OF THE BOX... no laptop, should crash new out of the box.

Apparently this is not an isolated incident and the original post is from January, 4 months ago. Has there been any response from Apple? Anyone found a solution?

Yes! Yes! That is it! I did install the most recent version of Catalina and this began. So my question now is...Does anyone ever read the reports sent in? Why isn’t Apple acknowledging this problem in the update? What can be done to get this fixed? I finally opted for shutting my computer down every day. Isn’t it possible this continued crashing would be difficult for the life of the hard drive? Thank you for your reply.

I received my Macbook i9 2.3Ghz in mid March. I also have the issue crashing while in sleep mode. The supplemental update did not resolve the issue. I have been using Apple products for over 25yrs. This is very disappointing, to say the least.

My concern is, it is a hardware issue and I will have to rebuild the whole device again. For what I use mine for, that is several days of work to get everything configured again.

Please, Apple, stop ignoring this issue!!! You will lose valid customers, especially those like me that know both MacOS and Windows very well. I don't want to use Windows full time, but will if my almost $4K MacBook is built to sub-par standards.

Frustrated customer!

The supplemental update corrected the crashing/sleep issue for my Mac. Also, another problem I was having was corrected with the update. The Touch ID would no longer work after crashing but now after update works beautifully. I hope someone in support and upper management reads these comments because as you can see there are several people who expected more from Apple. $5,000 for a computer is not chump change. It is an investment into a persons livelihood and when that investment doesn’t work it places a roadblock to their productivity. Can you imagine being asked to completely wipe your computer and reinstall it when you have a 24 hour turnaround job waiting for completion? I place a higher standard on Apple because I believe in the product.

Installed the latest updates, running on Catalina. But the updates didn't do the Job for me. Had just another crash...

I spoke too soon. Yesterday, seemingly worked fine but this midday when opening my computer said that my computer restarted because of a problem and then this panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff8002416487): "AppleIntelFramebuffer::setPowerState(0xffffff86971d2000 : 0xffffff7f859cad88, 1 -> 0) timed out after 45964 ms"@/AppleInternal/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/xnu/xnu-6153.101.6/iokit/Kernel/IOServicePM.cpp:5296

OK thanks.

Mine crashes with or without an external monitor. Mine seems related to any USB-C accessory being attached. I am using a Caldigit TS3 dock. I moved the monitor from the dock, to its own direct USB cable and port. Still crashes. Removed external monitor entirely, still crashes.

Ive disabled Graphics switching, Power Nap, neither of those things have had an effect.

Without any USB-C accessory attached it seems fine - but ill need to retest that again today been a week or so since I tried removing every device.

10.5.5 had a second beta released 16th April but no idea if this is being addressed in the update. Personally I cant install a beta i need my machine for daily work so cant risk testing it.

I am experiencing this issue on a very frequent basis, almost once per day. My computer spends almost all of its time asleep, open and connected to two 4k monitors. I have only seen it crash when it is sleeping in this setup.

I can see that people are saying that reseting the SMC and supplemental updates have fixed the issue but these have not helped me.
