How do I stop screenshots appearing on my homepage?

So I've just upgraded to a MacBook Pro 2019 and have screenshot a page to send to someone, its been saved but its also appeared on my home screen, which I don't want. Does anyone know how I stop this from happening as I don't want my homepage to be covered in screen shots.

According to: Take a screenshot on your Mac - Apple Support

"Where to find screenshots

By default, screenshots save to your desktop with the name ”Screen Shot [date] at [time].png.”

In macOS Mojave or later, you can change the default location of saved screenshots from the Options menu in the Screenshot app. You can also drag the thumbnail to a folder or document."


When you open the Screenshot app you will see:


Click on "Options⌄" to choose your desired location:
