Hi,
Recently my wide angle camera function stopped working and when I open the camera app it automatically pops into 2x and only allows me to zoom out to 1x but not. .5(screen shots below), all options work on video. I’ve updated to latest iOS, restarted phone, closed and reopened camera still know luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I use the wide angle for work all the time.

I had this issue. No amount of reset/restoring fixed it. I chatted with apple tech support online. They ran a remote diagnostic. They confirmed there was something wrong. They scheduled an appointment for me at my local Best Buy. The tech there ran the same diagnostic test again... "CAMERA ISSUE REAR CAMERA WIDE ANGLE LENS NOT FUNCTIONING, IS NOT DETECTED IN MRI." The fix was a rear camera replacement, which Best Buy had in stock. It took about 45 minutes. It cost $109. I'm disappointed the camera stopped working after less than 2 years of gentle ownership. However, I am grateful that I did not have to mail the phone in. If reset/restore does not work for you, you will need to get your rear camera replaced. There is no other fix if your camera is not detected. Good luck!
Yeah that didn’t work for me also. Apple said my camera is messed up and I needed to wait till the store opens to get a replacement or my phone fixed.

here you can read that the only solution is factory reset the iPhone, and don’t replace a backup. They are joking right?
Yeah surely it’s software. The ultra wide works in video, but isn’t even an option to select for photo. Then if I use the Lightroom mobile app, only ultra wide and wide are available, but no Tele!
I had the same issue since March, called apple and they sent a replacement unit as the troubleshoot showed camera sensor fail. The replacement unit also had the same problem.
I downloaded ProCamera for about $8. It restored all the lenses to the regular native camera app - so it was worth the $8 for me.
Take it to Apple while it's still under warranty.
Some people here report the problem solved by downloading some paid app.
Me too. Talked extensively w apple. Completely factory reset and still there. They told me I basically have to get a new phone or take mine in but I don’t live near an apple store so I can’t. Did getting a new phone work for anyone?
I reset and erase the entire phone and started fresh but it still didn’t work. This is a horrible bug and portrait doesn’t work as well. Am so disappointed to what had been a perfect experience so far with my iPhone 11 Pro for many many months now. I had to buy 3rd party camera app and those modes work fine . Please fix this Apple ASAP
Same issue with my stepdad’s iPhone 11 Pro Max (Gold). My green same phone doesn’t have the problem.
It started happening middle of February. Out of nowhere. His Camera app just kept crashing so he asked me to check it out. After restarting, I found that only one camera (2x - 52mm works). The other two don’t.
The interface also changed to that one on the screenshots you posted.
Brought it to Apple store. They had no idea. I restored to factory settings as new. Still the same problem. So I thought it was hardware.
back then (February or March), haven’t seen any post about it yet.
I thought he was alone.

Mine is doing the same. No wide angle. Went to Genius Bar yesterday, they detected a problem and since I was under warranty, they replaced the iPhone with a new one. Came home and restored from iCloud, and the problem is still there. It has to be a software issue. Anyone have any other suggestions?
An update. Had a diagnostic done. Apparently there is a sensor issue. Will bring it back next week. Really annoyed. Love the wide feature. More annoying is it defaulting to 2x upon launching the camera app.
UPDATE - I spoke with Apple and they acknowledged that it was their fault however I have to send my phone in for repair and pay for the repair. If they determined it was their fault they would refund me...but I can't do that as its my business phone. Honestly, to pay usch a high price and the phone doesnt work correctly is really disappointing...pixel anyone?
I just picked up my replacement 12Pro. Same issue yet again. I own multiple 12Pro's all on the same iCloud account and they have not had these issues. I recall other weird issues being created by 3rd party apps, like the short lived camera glitch caused by Whatsapp in April 2020 for a few days. Going to apple now to show them it in person so they believe me. They want to give me a 3rd replacement phone. Has anyone DOWNgraded or upgraded to a different model and not had the issue anymore? I am thinking of downgrading.
I'm struggling with the same problem, my UWA stopped working in the native Apple camera app. I still have Apple Care and called support, they ran a remote diagnostic and told me that the results reflected a hardware problem. I received a new iPhone 11 Pro, restored from backup, and guess what...I'm still having the same issue. I then reset and erased my old phone, and then went through a manual setup of the old device to test the camera - the problem still exists on the old phone even after the reset.
I read that some people are suspecting that it's an issue that is transferred between devices when restoring from backup...in retrospect, I should have tried the camera before restoring from backup. I guess it's time to call support again...fun fun.
Oh man... so frustrating!!! I have the same problem! let me know if you found the solution
