Setting up a Family Sharing member's iCloud email in Windows 10

Hi,

I use all Apple kit, but my kids use a Windows PC running Windows 10. I have set them up with an Apple ID and therefore email address within Family Sharing. I now want to add their email addresses into the built in Windows 10 mail app.

I have MFA turned on for my primary apple ID. If I try and add my own icloud email address, I logon to my Apple ID, create an app specific password and use that instead of my normal Apple ID password. Everything works perfectly. However, when I try to add my kids email addresses, the same app specific password does not work. If I log onto their iCloud settings, they do not have the option to generate an app specific password. Their standard iCloud password also does not work.

Am I missing something? This seems to be an oversight that I cannot add iCloud email addresses to the mail app in Windows unless it's a primary iCloud ID. I do not wish to disable MFA.

Any help appreciated!

Cheers,

Jim
