Why is my touchscreen keyboard so jumpy and unresponsive?

Try resetting iPad's settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Be certain you do not select Erase All Content and Settings as this will erase all of your information. It is a good idea to perform a backup of your iPad prior to resetting its settings.

I ordered an ipad 7th gen from Best by online. The keyboard is jumpy and sometimes it wont type, sometimes it types several of one letter. doesnt like to go from numerical to alphabetical and vice versa.
