Names autocorrect to ALL CAPS

When typing text in an iPhone, certain personal names routinely change, e.g. from Timothy to TIMOTHY.

A user reported this problem and many users said they had it in the following post

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7769999

But nobody was able to solve it correctly. The Apple rep suggested just to reset the autocorrect dictionary. That is a poor answer as it means getting rid of all other learned autocorrections. Unfortunately the original post is locked, so I can't add the correct answer there (I have seen other posts that suggest installing a different keyboard but those solutions are also less than ideal)

However there is a solution:

  1. Go to Settings / General / Text Replacement
  2. Add a new text replacement, and specify the phrase as the bad autocorrected word with the all caps (e.g. TIMOTHY), and the shortcut as the word for which you want to stop capitalization happening , (e.g. Timothy).
