Okay, here's the path to the file that was fouling things up.

First, close Safari.

Home > Library > Containers > com.apple.Safari > Data > Library > Preferences. Locate "com.apple.Safari.plist" and drag it to the trash.

Reopen Safari and pop-up windows control is now available thanks to a new file.

Hello Don,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that Pop-up Windows is missing under Settings for This Website in Safari on your iMac. You've come to the right place for help.

Is this option missing only when you visit a specific website or does it not appear on any website that you visit on the iMac? Do you see the other options as expected for the website?

Customize settings for each website in Safari on Mac

I'd also like to have you check if you have the option to customize your Pop-up Windows preferences for currently open websites when you go to Website preferences in Safari:

Change Websites preferences in Safari on Mac

Since you see the option on your other MacBook, testing the behavior in another user account on the iMac could help us further isolate potential causes of the behavior:

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Let us know what you find.

Cheers!

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for responding. The option is missing for any and all websites both under Settings for this Website and in the preferences panel. Since posting this, I've had a couple of conversations with Apple Support, tried the alternative user test you recommend and found that the feature is still in the system, just unavailable within the current admin account. Reinstalled the OS, looked at a few other things and, at this point, we've submitted a complete report to Engineering. Seems there's nothing in the existing CS database that addresses my specific - and as of today unresolved - symptoms.

Regards
