I’ve no idea “why”, but you may find that a forced-restart may clear any isolated issues:

On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

I have not tried it yet. I was waiting to see if anyone has had any issues will definitely not be installing it tonight

I completely reset everything. Scribbled it and reinstalled from my cloud acct. it was a pain to do, but it seemed to fix the glitch. It has not restarted itself since then.
