Targeted Display not working in 2020 iMac and 2014 Mac Book Pro

I am trying to connect my work Mac Book Pro to my new iMac. I have updated both computers software to Catalina and have the proper connections with the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 connector with the Thunderbolt 2 cable.


When I press command + F2 on either computer nothing happens.


I have checked and unchecked the "Use F1, F2, ect.." function in the keyboard setting on both computers. Both are currently unchecked as neither are responding to the command.


Any help would be great!

Target Display Mode was only offered in a limited number of iMacs made between 2009 and 2014. Please see this Apple article for more information:
