Unable to make purchases in Pokémon GO

When attempting to purchase Pokécoins in Pokémon Go app, I receive the following error message: “something went wrong. Please try again later.” I have rest my phone, ensured no restrictions are enabled, changed my Pokémon Go password, and turned on/off my WiFi. Still the error message persists.

OMG OMG I turned off Apple Cash and it worked - You were right!!! Except in my case, Apple Pay is still on, but Apple Cash is off.

First, I removed my bank account from Apple Cash, and removed PayPal from the payment methods for iTunes, and only left the Apple Credit card in the wallet and iTunes, and then I shut off Apple Cash.

Then I tried to make a purchase in the PoGo shop and it worked!!

I think the bank account definitely has something to do with it, because today my bank literally SHUT OFF my debit card without even asking me if the $1.00 purchase for the PoGo ticket was fraud. They just shut it off. And I got a push notification on my phone that the debit card was no longer available for making purchases. And the debit card was tied to Apple Cash. OMG this Apple payment system is SO MESSED UP.

BUT IT WORKED!!!

Same here plus it’s the principal of the matter. I have friends telling me “oh just let it go, it’s just $2.10 your out, no biggie!” But yes it is a biggie, if this happened to thousands if not millions of players and they’re refusing to offer refunds then they’re making so much money off this bug. I mean there are people in here who this happened to on the $99 coin bundle and now they’re out $200+ because of this bug!

I am so beyond done with both companies! So I went on my old iPhone (7) that has a different Apple ID on it and I bought $50 in Apple credit so I could buy some coins for Go Fest (the $39.99 bundle) and guess what!? It took my money again and no coins!!! There seriously has to be something wrong with the shop in Go but clearly Niantic doesn’t want to be bothered. They want to take our money and then give us a big fat middle finger in return!! This is beyond disgusting!!!

Update #2: I received an email just now say that there’s an update on my case, so I go and check it and I see this. So I then checked to see if I could buy coins again on my main Apple ID and I still can’t. I also checked my bank account and didn’t see a credit for $2.10 but maybe it needs a few days to process. I’ll keep everyone posted if I have anymore updates!

Yup. I haven't been able to trade in coins or purchase items from the shop on either one of my accounts since I believe February. Missed out on events and incubators and raid passes because Niantic Support refuses to help me trade in or purchase coins anymore. They have "added the maximum number of items to my bag." Sooo, they take someone who religiously plays every day, on 2 accounts (one started for my nephew) and make it impossible for them to play or purchase items. Hmmm, terrible business model IMHO. I have spent a lot of money purchasing items for this game. Getting super annoyed that they "can't" (aka, "won't") help me anymore :(

I told Apple the same thing. They wouldn’t refund the duplicate charge because I bought one ticket on my account for myself and my 2 kids bought tickets to play on their accounts using iPads that both used my Apple ID for purchases. One kid made the duplicate purchase. So there were 4 tickets bought on my Apple ID, and Apple wouldn’t believe me when I said one of them was a duplicate- clearly it was bought on the same iPad, but when you buy multiple items of the same thing on the same Apple ID, Apple doesn’t believe you when you say one was a duplicate.

That’s what happened to me with Gastly. Bought it for 3 kids and myself and got charged 5 times, then my store stopped working. It cleared up with Magikarp event and the ticket was just in my daughter’s account along with all my failed coin purchases that I made on my own account. So she has a sweet coin balance now. Ugh. Btw, neither Niantic nor Apple have been any help.
