AirPods Pro's sound cut off when used with Mac

I have a new AirPods pro and I noticed that sometimes randomly the sound would cut off (even though the AirPods are still connected to the computer) and I would have to switch to the internal speakers and back to the AirPods to make them work again, I don't think this happened with my iPhone only with my Macbook pro.

I rested the AirPods and also the bluetooth module on my computer but still the issue exist

it's a MacBook Pro 13 mid 2012 with macOS Sierra

I don't know if the issue is the computer or the AirPods
