MacBook Air - overheating, loud fan, high CPU other processes on EtreCheck

Hi there,

Over the last few days I've noticed my MacBook has been really warm, slightly slow, and the fan is extremely loud. On EtreCheck, I found 130% CPU was to other processes. I assumed there was a virus so I downloaded Malwarebytes and it found an adware. I quarantined it and then ran the EtreCheck again, and it was down to 35%.

I was pleased, but the next day I've been using my laptop and it's continuing to overheat. I just ran the EtreCheck again and 222% of CPU is going to other processes. I'm assuming there's something seriously wrong, probably a virus. I really need some help on what I need to do.

P.s. I'm not great with this sort of stuff so please dumb down your advice a little haha
