Missing folder on start up

My MacBook Pro shuts itself down automatically when left in sleep mode and then restarts and says it encountered a problem and that is why it had to restart. Furthermore if it has been shut down and I turn it on the screen will display a file with a question mark on it until I manually shut it down again to restart it. I have sent it in to apple in South Africa and they said there was no problem with the machine, however this problem persists. Any suggestions please let me know.

You do not say what exact Mac /model /year /size /retina /TouchBar is this

or

what exact macOS you are currently running?
