I had the same issue with my new iPhone SE 2020. Battery was incredibly disappointing for what I’ve known from my Apple products. I could see the battery percentage ticking down just reading articles (as some others described “a percentage point every 2 min” or so). Like others on here, I did the typical battery saving tips. Biggest clue for me was the first day I took it to work. I don’t have time to look at my phone at work except during my lunch. By the time I got home after 11hrs, I only had 20% battery life. Battery usage indicator told me that Apple Music was responsible for 87% of my battery usage. However, I had only looked at app for abt 3 mins during initial set up of my phone— never actually used it. The rest was background activity (even tho I turned off background app refresh for all apps). As a result of this finding, I uninstalled the Apple Music app. This DRASTICALLY improved my battery life. Next 11hr work day, my phone had only dropped to 78% with light browsing at lunch and a few txts. I used it to browse some social media/watch a few videos at home, but decided to keep off charger overnight. I’m writing up this comment right now with the phone having been off the charger for over 26hrs and I still have 34% battery life. This is much more inline with what I expected given how much i leave it in idle. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue with the Apple Music app possibly going rogue... uninstalling it helped me tremendously.

I am on my 5th iPhone with the SE 2020 being my most recent. I never had battery drain issues with any other ones but the SE has definitely been a challenge. It would drain 30% overnight just resting. I tried all of the typical suggestions even though I was using my phone exactly as I had all of my others where I didn’t have issues. I gave up and decided if I was going to keep this phone it either needed to handle my regular usage or it would be going back. So reinstalled everything that I had on my previous phones and decided to watch what happened. At first I had to charge every single night which I never had to do with my previous phones unless I was out of WiFi all day. Then about a week ago it suddenly starting keeping a charge better. Yesterday I read that there are issues with the 13.5.1 update that is causing battery drain for many iPhone models. So perhaps with the next update things will improve more? I am going to give it about another week so see how it performs. As long as I can continue to get 2 days between charges when using in WiFi I will likely keep it.

read the same article too. similar battery issues as yourself as well. i'm from android, so this is my first iOS. i really like the phone. does what it says on the tin etc, except battery. bought mine when they first came out. had terrible problems with heating up - using facetime, especially. battery drain big time. uninstalled that. still without it now. anyway, issues have calmed down after input from support. that's been good. even though, i'm expecting another 10-15% on top of what i have by mid afternoon, i'm not a heavy user, light surfing, OneNote, a few other apps etc. i have followed charging protocols. but i switch it off completely at night now. i may as well, because it was on 'do not disturb' night mode anyway. i don't see the point of leaving it on? so, unless otherwise directed by tech for example it'll stay that way. i'm charging once a day now, used to be two. if it runs down towards 40% i'll give it a boost up to 70/80%. if not i'll charge in the morning for an hour, that gets it into the 90's. and that will do. i would like to see more improvement with the battery issue in another update - we'll just have to see? cheers, drew.

Had the phone since it came out. Had all above issues regarding battery and drain. Phone will now happily sit at 90% all day if I don’t use it. The moment I do it starts it’s drop quite quickly. I think the battery is sound it’s just too small or there’s another issue. I love the SE and have no other problems. Apple just got the size wrong. That’s it basically. I’ve had tech support too and I think they did what they could. Live with it manage it, whatever. But that’s about as good as it gets.

I bought a brand new iPhone SE 256Gb last month to my daughter and she's having the same issue regarding battery. It drains very fast in few hours.

Brought the iPhone to Apple Store and they told me that something in the system software or an App might be the problem. They asked me to leave the iPhone 2 hours, in order to make a procedure that should solve the problem. If the issue persists after the procedure, they will send the iPhone to Apple and ask for battery replacement under warranty...

As I said, from the Apple tech guys: if you’re stressing your battery every day up to 100% and down to 5% it will wear out faster. And as they said, it’s not necessary to charge overnight, if you don’t need to. We have so many charging points now: at home in the car, at work, on public transport, it’s easy to charge up 10/20% anytime, anywhere. And unless the earth is struck by a solar flare and kills all power, you’ll always be able charge somewhere. The way I charge works for me. And it seems to protect the battery.

There is a major problem with this phone - I bought a brand new SE2020 256 Gb arrived 6 May and it drains constantly with very little use... I keep taking screen shots eg

last night 01.50am fully charged 100%

this morning 9.00am ( lying on my desk all night - iCloud back up switched off) 63%

During the day with minimal use ( ie during lockdown here in the UK) it drops alarmingly..

And I am not even watching youtube videos or google or google maps driving

Will probably send it back and get a refund - A13 processor is a waste of time if that is what it does to the phone

I have unboxed a couple of weeks ago and the battery drain is insane. Last night my phone died with 47% battery before I went to bed.

I have been browsing the forum for the past 20 Minutes and 10% just went. I am not streaming any music or anything, all apps killed bar safari.

I don’t know what to do, IPhone is heating up badly around the camera as well.

My girlfriend also got the phone at the same time and has absolutely no battery issues...

After a few days where it seemed to have settled to normal drain my SE got crazy again this night and discharged from 75% to nearly 0% overnight. And that was in power savings mode.... the activity shows no app at all was running. I guess there is a big bug in iOS for this device. Let’s hope it gets fixed soon, because I would not keep such an unreliable battery life

@Nyls1323, this has been my experience too (I got mine 1 month ago), and things have then improved after a week. I now lose about 10% overnight, which I still consider a lot as I also put the phone in powersaving mode. And occasionnally I noticed some big drains on battery while not doing much during day. Actually, even in flight mode during night it loses the same 10%, so I guess there is still a real big bug in iOS for iPhone SE 2020. Let's hope Apple fixes it soon. I am a bit disappointed by this poor battery life.

I got this iphone SE 2020 weeks ago, and I have the same issue; I have 2 other phones using at the same time: one is iphone 7 for calls & social apps and its 2 years old and the battery drainage is acceptable considering the age of device and one is Huawei mate 10 pro which I use for work calls and media like Netflix. The iphone SE as I noticed the battery drainage too fast I was not using it for any thing except for couple of minutes on twitter and some times I don't use it at all and it keeps loosing battery percentage very fast as if Im calling a vedio call.. I hope they cone with an update that solve this issue..
