Cleaning 16 inch MacBook Pro Screen

I've recently purchased a MacBook Pro 16 inch and had a finger print on the screen that I wanted to clean off. I've followed Apple's instructions on how to clean the display (damp lint-free cloth) but the place which I cleaned seems to have a "splodge" on it now, almost like a mist that doesn't wipe away.

I applied very light pressure, have I accidentally wiped away any coating or anything and will this affect my display? Is there any way to get rid of this patch where you can tell it has been wiped.
