How long does preparing to ship take?

2020 MacBook Air, i5, 16ram 500hd, took from April 27 to May 6 to move from processing to preparing to ship. Funds came out of my cc on May 3rd.

I ordered July 18

It shipped July 31

and ingot it yesterday august 3

mine came a day after the latest of the expected window. the processing takes like 2 weeks tho. and then after it finishes processing it will be there in like 5 days.

I placed order same MacBook Air on 8/6 and nothing happened until 8/11. On 8/11 it moved to prepare for the shipment then I received it next day around noon. I hope you get yours soon.

Woop! Looks like Apple are reading this. As soon as I posted, my macbook was preparing to ship. Apple said it will deliver between 17-24 September. FYI, I live in London

I order my Mac book Air with an upgrade of 16gb RAM on September 26; and now it just recently switched from “processing” to “preparing to ship”. It took almost two weeks for me.

how long did it take to switch from processing to preparing to ship? i just ordered a macbook air on the 30th and it's still processing but it's supposed to arrive on friday earliest and i'm impatient and scared that if it takes too long the funds won't be available on the card

I ordered my MBP on the 19th and today I woke up to “preparing to ship” with the funds charged on my card. Today is the 6th of August so it took about 2 1/2 weeks to process.

Hoping to have it shipped soon - my delivery estimate is August 13-20.

I Ordered MBA last July 25

Card was charged: August 7

Preparing to Ship: STILL August 7 and is not even moving AN INCH from China. based on the invoice, it should shipout by August 13 yet no progress. expecting to receive it by Sept. 3 as what is said.

Hope they can show their concerns for us buyers by giving us hints why it's taking so long. it's actually even harder to wait since the item is already paid. All I need is an assurance that it will be sent safe and sound on the said date. That's it.

Mine finally ticked over from processing to preparing to ship this morning (19th Aug) after I ordered on 3rd Aug (To United Kingdom). My delivery window is 18th to 25th. The delivery times are insane. How are other companies managing to keep up with demand during pandemic but Apple can't? Crazy for such a huge company.

I suppose I can't really complain at the moment as they did make it clear that the delivery window was that from the start, however if they miss it I'll be very annoyed. Not really the way to treat customers who are dropping £1k on a computer! Glad to find other people who are having the same issues and it's not just me.

You're comparing how long it takes to get a device with a customer configuration versus an off the shelf item. A custom configuration is going to take longer. Also, depending on when in March you ordered the iPad, things were different. Supply chains were more intact. Delivery services weren't overwhelmed.

I got my configured MBA 2020 and other devices I ordered a month after placing my order, which is 2 weeks earlier than the ETA. I got it form Apple PH, and I hope to have y'all receive your orders soon 💜

Mine changed from processing to preparing to ship today. It had moved when I checked it after I woke up. It’s already been shipped out the same day and hopefully should be with me tomorrow.

I hope yours doesn’t take long now.

Sorry I’m late but on your next Apple order if it does this I had a order it was in processing for I think 10-12 days it’s in preparing to ship my estimated delivery date is Oct 13-Oct 20 it got out of processing on Oct 15

I ordered a customized Mac mini 3/13 and a customized MacBook Air on 3/14. The Mac mini is already scheduled to deliver on 3/18 but the MacBook Air is still in processing. The ETA is 3/30-4/2 so I really hope I get the Air before then.
