I ordered the 2020 MacBook Air with a custom configuration of 16 GB ram and i7 processor. My order just moved from processing to preparing to ship on Monday. How long does it usually take for it be shipped after this stage, if anyone has experience with this sort of order?
Here's how it went for me. I know when trying to research the same topic as you this is the sort of answer I was looking for.
I ordered a 27-inch iMac with a memory upgrade. The whole process took 13 days for me. I'm sure there are lots of things that can make an order take longer, but this is how it went for me.
Order Placed: July 22nd
Processing: July 23rd
Card Charged: July 25th
Preparing to Ship: July 28th
Shipped: July 29th
Delivered: August 4th
It usually takes a while. I ordered mines on 8/31, shipped on 9/8, and arrived on 9/9. It takes a while, but it should come. If you have any other questions, you should ask Apple, this is just my experience.
For anyone looking for up to date (March 2021) information on this question, I ordered my MacBook Air with 16gb RAM and 2TB storage, on 2/26. I was charged for the computer on 3/8, 10 days later, and could start seeing package tracking info that day. I live on the East Coast US and the Apple delivery estimate was 3/16-3/23. Today, 3/12 it’s loaded onto my local UPS truck route so it’s definitely arriving! 2 weeks on the dot from order date, just 4 days after it shipped from China.
I ordered a customized Mac mini 3/13 and a customized MacBook Air on 3/14. The Mac mini is already scheduled to deliver on 3/18 but the MacBook Air is still in processing. The ETA is 3/30-4/2 so I really hope I get the Air before then.
Same here. I ordered 4/10/21. MacBook Air 16gb RAM and 512 storage. Just moved to "preparing to ship" today. Estimate delivery date is still 4/28-4/30. I'll be extremely happy if it arrives before then. If not, no biggie, it's out of my control.
2020 MacBook Air, i5, 16ram 500hd, took from April 27 to May 6 to move from processing to preparing to ship. Funds came out of my cc on May 3rd.
Mine took just a few hours to move from preparing to ship to shipped
How long did yours take? Mine is still processing and should be here Thursday at the earliest but hasn't even prepared to ship yet
Update: Sorry for the month-later post. It got delivered on June 5th. Great timing!
Mine only took a couple hours before i got another email saying it was shipped and was delivered the next day

for me, it took 2 weeks.
It took 2 weeks for me. Ordered a configure to order MacBook Pro on the 15th and late on the 30th it moved to Preparing to Ship.
did you order stock model or customize? I just ordered and added/upgraded to i5 processor.
