Is anyone else having wifi problems w the new iPhone SE?
It runs in all cases about 75% slower than miy old iPhone 6s. I am on a 1GB fiber internet connection, with Apple Airports throughout.
I generally use the 5GHz spectrum.
A full phone reset, and using only factory settings, makes no difference. At all ...

I have similar inconveniences.
I have identified two problems, all values given - D/U [Mb/s]:
1) iPhone SE 2020 has noticeably worse wifi range than my previous iPhone 6s. In the place where 6s connects to my 5GHz network and still reaches 20/4, SE does not detect the network at all. The range on the 2.4GHz band is also worse and shows about one beam less. Sometimes, even close to the access point, a message is displayed saying that the network cannot be connected. This does not happen on any other device (4 iPhones, 2 iPads).
2) iPhone SE 2020 has a problem with the simultaneous use of the 2.4GHz band over wifi and bluetooth. When I turn off bluetooth, the bandwidth increases significantly. For example, near access point it increases from 29/44 to 98/82, far from access point it increases from 8/13 to 23/37.
I have already started regretting this purchase.
My setup is: Mikrotik hEX, UniFi AP-AC-LR
Call Apple... they don't read these forums. I ******* enough that I'm getting both SE's replaced. It's a crap phone, hopefully a newer one will correct the issue.
I had my SE 2020 delivered yesterday. WIFI became painfully slow last night and this morning. Not sure if it’s a coincidence but I switched Bluetooth off and it suddenly sprang back to life. Turned Bluetooth back on and it’s still ok. But Google photos has also been backing up in the background and has just finished. So that could be a reason ?
This might be the issue I’m Encountering. My WiFi is normally okay but when I make a FaceTime phone call my WiFi drops for my cellular connectivity. I have done thorough tech support with Apple and even had my unit replaced to no avail. I have replaced my semi card, had my router replaced since rent the equipment. I have tried it on 100/100 home network. My parents blast xfinity network which is like 300 down/ up to 100 up. Nothing seems to fix the issue. I have turned off WiFi assist. I have come to the conclusion that the WiFi receiver or antenna chosen for the model is a sub par unit as I had no issues with my previous iPhone 8. Actually in the same locations throughout my house I have noticed lower connectivity with the se 2nd gen versus the I phone 8 and both should have similar hardware if not better in the new iPhone se. Engineering says the phone and features are working as intended so we have to just wait to see if enough of us complain where they admit the hardware is sub par, or that the software isn’t not interacting with the new hardware correctly. They have gone as far to say my home network is not strong enough even with the speeds I have just mentioned and the fact that my iPads and tv have no issue.
I just updated to the most recent which was suppose to be just a security fix but my WiFi signal actually improved and I haven’t noticed any more wifi dropping in the areas it was before. I’d recommend checking to make sure the update that just came out in the past four or so is updated
Submit feedback at Apple.com/feedback . I doubt going through support will get you any answer. They will claim that is how the phone is suppose to act but I was guaranteed that if we submit feedback it is read. If enough people submit problems about slow WiFi they may address it
Same problem for what it's worth. I just got on the forum as I was looking for answers on the extremely poor wifi performance I'm getting with my new iPhone SE 2020. I'm sitting on my porch with my fairly old computer accessing wifi at 170
Mbps and my new iPhone SE 2020 sitting right next to it is running at a range from not being able to connect or running at 20 Mbps. This is distance related. If I am right next to my router, the iPhone SE is the fastest device I have for wifi speeds. Move even the slightest distance away and it drops off dramatically compared to all other devices. I am really sorry I bought this phone because of this problem. I'd return it but unfortunately I bought it to replace an iPhone 6s that I dropped and cracked so I need this phone. It should be an embarassment to Apple to sell a new phone with Wifi performance that so under performs the old iPhone 6s it replaced. My advice to anyone reading this: if you don't truly need a new phone right now, hold off from buying this one if you watch videos or download significant data requiring wifi.

I know iphone SE is the cheapest iphone but something as essential as WiFi can be as broken as it is now. Besides not all iphone SE users have this problem so it could be mine is faulty

Did you unplug your router, let it sit for a minute, then plug it back in?
In my case I can be sat in the same room as a Draytek router.
iPhone 8 gives me a speedtest result of 8mb down 10mb up and my Iphone SE 2020 gives me 500-600kb down 2mb up.. Consistently.....
Same test with a Mint linux laptop with 2.4Ghz WiFi connection, same place, same room and router. 8 mb down 9-10mb up -> iPhone SE 2020 - 500kb down 1-2mb up....
These new iPhone SE's are seriously flawed.....
Submit feedback on apples website Apple. com/ feedback. Otherwise keep calling and keep pushing. Take your phones into the store and let them see the problem side by side with another model. Call tech support and get a sr agent and let them keep referencing it.
Yes, and Apple is very slow to admit it. They claim they don't have a lot of complaints about it, I would suggest calling Support and registering these complaints with them. They have their own internal support channels with the engineers, they don't really look at these boards much.
Today I erased all browser data such as cookies and other website related data. Seemed that helped by now. I guess the old behavior will be back soon.
Before that I did all the other usual setbacks suggested by Apple.
Go to your next Apple Store and tell them about your frustration with your SE 2020.
How far are you from router?
I restore iOS 14.0.1 through finder .
