Force flash on VIDEO iphone 11

I have an iphone 11 pro max. I know that to turn the flash on for pictures, you tap the arrow at the top of the screen and turn it on. For videos, though, the arrow isn’t there. The only thing indicating flash is at the top left, and tapping it on/off does NOTHING. I can’t force the flash on for a video through the camera app if it’s light in the room that I’m in. It works on snapchat, but not apple’s camera app! There are times where I’m in a light room but want to use flash for whatever reason and I just can’t force it on! So frustrating.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with flash on your iPhone. I’m happy to help.

From your screenshot it looks like you may be using Night mode. According to the article below,

“If you have Flash set to Auto, it turns on automatically in extremely low-light situations. To turn on the flash manually, tap the arrow above the viewfinder. Tap the flash button that appears below the viewfinder, then select On.”
