itune restore error for iPhone X- could not restore because an error occurred while reading from or writing to the iPhone

I have an iPhone X and I tried to upgrade it to the latest iOS via iTunes as well as resolving the other memory occupying too much space issue.

I made a backup via latest iTunes and my computer is running Windows 10. Given the small size of system drive, I created a symbolic link for the backup folder and the backup is stored in an external HDD. After using the DFU mode to load the latest iOS into the phone, I tried to restore the backup but it keeps failing. It keeps telling me that my iPhone could not restore because an error occurred while reading from or writing to the iPhone.

I tried to reboot both computer and iPhone, tried using different USB port in my laptop to connect my iPhone, and used a few Apple cables to try and it still fails. The backup is about 176 GB, and restore always stopped when the restore file grows to 171 GB.

When I made a copy of the backup file to another location, Windows 10 tells me that a file of around 7mb could not be read from the sources file. The copying process is exactly with 5GB left (seems linking to why the backup restore stop at 171GB).

Is there anyway to complete the restore process? thankssssss.

Update-solved

lucky only 1 file is in bad sector n not readable. I gave a few try and finally get around with it.

i copy another file from the backup with similar size. Copy it to desktop and rename it exactly the same as the file fall into bad sector and not readable. Then i put it back to the original sub-folder in the backup.

after a 13 hours restore process and the iphone x back to work with all data except 1 picture😄

Follow up:

Another restore was made and then itune said the backup is corrupt. Seems a small file of about 7mb fall into a bad sector.

is there any tool can help to repair the backup file, so that i can complete the restore in this kind of case?

A 7mb file can be just 1-2 photo out of a whole 176GB backup. I am ok if i lost that 7mb data just to make my other data to be restored to iphone. Thanks
