WatchOs 6.2.6 Draining Battery

After upgrading to a version of watchOs 6.2.6, my 40mm 4 series apple watch is already running late and does not reach 6 hours ... Before version 6.2.5 for 2 days, as settings No changes have been made, no apps was installed the most !! Have I done the procedure to restore the Apple watch and open as new without starting the backup and continue to drain the battery further ??? Do you want a note of clarification about the software you are making available, this is making my Apple watch so useless!?

try to find out how many cycles is your battery!? see if it is not close to 1000 cycles, your watch series will be launched on 2nd of 2016 to 4 years ago !! I believe it's already close to a thousand load cycle !! If you don't know how to check how many charge cycles, call Apple and ask for support without support to make it worthy and to evaluate how many cycles it has !?

@Mellon420, I appreciate all your trouble shooting tips, but I'm gonna push back a bit on your 1,000 cycles pontificating. My watch worked fine until a week and a half ago. At that point I had already been using my watch for 2 and a half years. I don't believe in coincidences. At that time I upgraded to 6.2.6. I used my watch normally on Saturday the 29th of May and around 3pm I got the pulse on my wrist that my watch was at 10%.

I have done all the trouble shooting of unpairing, resetting, your tips and calling Apple support. Apple did the battery diagnostic and told me the battery did not fail! They suggested giving it a couple months to see if it improves or to test the battery again. I can appreciate your advice on charging, but I'm no rookie to battery management as I drive a Tesla and keep it charged between 20 to 80% at nearly all times. It is impossible to do that with an Apple Watch, nor should you have to.

This latest update is causing battery issues for watch owners, there is nothing left to rule out. Maybe the update is the push over the edge for older watches, but there is no undoing the latest update. I wouldn't trust buying a new battery for my watch at this point anyway, so I will charge it twice a day until that becomes too annoying and I replace it.

Perfect !! mine also lasts this, like minimum settings and moderate use, with 100% battery at 8:30 am usually at 23:30 pm to slide, again at 8:30 am at 10:00 pm + - it depends on how to use it, fuel my watch whenever it arrives at 10% it doesn't cost to use backup mode to preserve the battery, not to use a charger normally when you sleep, not to use another day when you are awake at 8:30 am ... apple watch series 4 40mm!

Sadly completely draining the battery and recharging to 100% did not make a change. I was just down to 46% after 7 hours of watch wear. I did go for a 45 minute walk this morning and used the workout app to track it. That drained about 13% of the battery. I really have exhausted what all of you fine folks have suggested. I’m going to wait for the next Apple update to see if it gives any battery improvement. If not I will upgrade to a new watch. As @Mellon420 stated, I’m beyond 1,000 charges in 2.5 years, so beyond batrrry expiration date. Just wish the drop off wasn’t as fast as it has been in last 2 weeks.

Have been experiencing the same issue since 6.2.6. Was not having any issues prior to that release.

I have unpaired/repaired 3 times now, with absolutely no improvement.

Watch stuck at 100% for hours, and then suddenly dies. Will only power up when plugged into the charger. When it powers up, shows a false 100% charge.

Read on 9to5Mac forums that after plugged in for 2+ hours, power the watch off and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Somehow this ‘calibrates’ the battery again. I tried this solution, and while the battery did descend from 100% somewhat normally, it shut down at around 45% yesterday.

It’s really frustrating to not see any acknowledgment of the issue and/or hotfix to correct it.

So my update....I bought a new Apple Watch Nike edition version 3. I bought directly from Apple with a trade in of my Version 2 Nike which Apple is giving me $60.

So the new watch is working great with no battery issues. I am still using many of the battery saving tips. I have not updated to 6.2.6. I am running 6.2.1 at the moment. I will not update to 6.2.6. I will wait until more feedback from the forum on when I will update the software to the latest version.

My wife's Series 3 38mm has less than 600 battery charges (she got the watch on 12/25/2018, i figured one charge a day) its less than 600. Its only an assumption but a safe assumption to say she has not reached the 1000 charges. Since 6.2.6, she's at 35% by 5:00, typically she is not at the 30's until 11:00 at night if at all before her next charge. My Series 3 42mm which is just over a year old does not seem to be plagued by 6.2.6 with battery issues. It's odd. We turned off a lot of the location services for app that she does not need. But either way, her watch battery was fine until 6.2.6, so I don't think the answer is that we need to alter the way she uses the watch unless Apple comes out and says "... because of 6.2.6 we suggest users do this... to keep battery life optimal".

I have the same issue. I bought my watch in March 2019 and now, all of a sudden, it shuts off completely at 54%. When plugged in, it starts to charge from 54% as well. I get a few hours out of the charge - if I don't use any of the features of the watch other than using it for time. Seems like my watch just turned into a $600 brick after ONLY 14 MONTHS.

Save your money... buy another brand. I love apple, but these "battery" issues on their products are becoming a suspect way of forced upgrades. Submit a case and wait to be told to please wait some more as their "engineers" are looking into your issue, but they can't (or won't) provide any feedback as to what they are doing or have done to investigate.

I've tried all the suggested steps outline in this thread and still have same battery drain. I didn't have this before OS 6.2.6 and still having same issue with os 6.2.8. I have checked for whether airplane mode and bluetooth were on, so followed the steps outlined there. I also did the reset and restore from backup still same issue. I also did the reset to factory and do not restore from backup, and same issue. Before June my watch was lasting more than a day. Now the battery drains pretty fast. Would be nice if I can at least see which process is using up the battery and causing the drain to disable. Maybe it is apple's way to force you to buy a new watch after sometime which would be sad. Also looks to me like possibly bluetooth on apple watch seems to be constantly searching for devices and health devices (headphones, etc). Wonder if that causes the battery to drain but need bluetooth on to connect to apple watch.
