iOS 13.5.1 screen and calling issues

My iPhone XR was updated with 13.5.1 last night (6/9/2020). Since then, my screen is freezing and I cannot answer calls, scroll, etc. Very frustrating. What can be done to fix this?

Hi!

I just got done on apple support, because I was having so many issues after my phone updated last night. First, make sure your phone is completely backed up, and then try restarting it normally. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts. After it restarts, check to see if the issues have improved, and if not, you most likely will have to erase the phone and restart it with your recent backup or as a new device.

Hope this helps!

Very unhappy with Apple. Did they not test the update before requiring phones to get it? I’ve had problems in the past with Apple updates so I avoided 13.5.1 as long as I could. Then, one night, it automatically updated. Since then I can barely answer or give phone calls, texting is a game of 50/50 chance, my battery lasts maybe half as long as it used to, my phone seems to running extremely hot (7+ by the top right, just below the camera and flash), most applications won’t open without crashing, scrolling only works maybe half the time, wifi and cell service seem non existent, and video and audio playback (even from things downloaded and stored on the device) are entirely unusable. I’ve tried restarting my phone, freeing up storage, and deleting and downloading apps again. Non of these have worked and now that I’ve deleted the apps I use most, my phone won’t download them again. I would backup my phone but it freezes every time I try. Great work, Apple. Top notch as usual.

I have the I Phone 7 Plus I did the ISO 13.5.1 update and have the same issues, battery drain, phone real hot, having problems making and receiving calls at times, cannot get e mails, some of my apps are not working.

I am off work with a broken foot and need my phone to still do work related stuff.

I tired the reset push top volume button once, push the bottom volume button once then hold upper right site button in till phone started up. Still have the same problem, Wondering if I need to erase the phone then reinstall everything that I have saved, how do I do this, if this is then next first of action? Please help desperate!

I have all Apple products. I have spent thousands on a Appe iMac and iPhone. When I purchased these products they worked so well. Now, after both an update on both my iPhone and iMac, my products are virtually unusable. I would like Apple to reach out to me and help me through their changes. I have tried backing up my devices, but I can’t. I do not know what else to do. If Apple can’t help, I’ll have to try something that does.

Adding my voice to the chorus here. My iPhone 6s has become basically unusable. Yes, it's an old model, but it was working just fine before this last upgrade. Apple, you've now successfully trained me to never do an upgrade again.

Why no response from the company here, beyond the one person who keeps telling us to do a complete factory restart? That's an enormous headache, which will cost many people hours if not days. (Side note: please, for the love of god, make it possible to transfer voice memos off of our phones in bulk rather than one by one!) Is that truly our only course of action?

This upgrade is clearly causing big problems. Solutions, Apple?

if you read the term of service you signed up for then you would've known that this is a user to user technical forum and that there is no Apple here.

If you want Apple, then suggest you go to your nearest Apple store and can do your rant there.
