Hey everybody,
I have a solution that worked for me.
Quick answer:
I deleted all plugins that ended with 'x64' from the Components folder (HD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>Components)
In my case they were:
And it worked! Although it still takes about 1/2-2 minutes to load Logic every time. Before the update it was only a matter of a few seconds. Which means Apple still has to address the lengthy plugin rescan process on every single launch with this new 10.5.1update.
How I figured out that those files were bricking my Logic?
I used the following algorithm:
Hope this helps!
Thank you.
PS.
My set up:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Catalina 10.15.4
iLok 2
I have a lot of DIY, freebie, lite, expired trials, no longer supported plugins
I don't have any illegally acquired or 'cracked' plugins installed
Is it only Strobe? None of my plugs seemed to work. Like an endless loop ending with a crash.
That’s exactly what I thought I had done last night! I don’t have any audio units or anything left but maybe I should go through and check again?
Apple is not here. Only users.
You can provide feedback to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html.
I would not expect a real "fix". A kind of workaround maybe...

Agreed!
+1 for this. I did a search on this issue whilst I left LPX in its unresponsive state in the background. It booted.
Right. I read all this. I mean all the responses, and all the hoops some of you poor people are having to jump through. I really don't care a flying fornication what Apple/Logic "supporters" think. I was a die-hard Apple lover, until Mr. Jobs' demise and, thereafter, the company grew enormously rich and became hugely successful, yet rapidly diminished in quality. I've used Apple and Logic since the '90's , but what we have here is a laughing stock. I mean, practically the Emperor's new pyjamas.
I reluctantly upgraded to Mojave, only because 10.5.x will not run on High Sierra. What happened next was exactly the experiences described within this thread. Frankly, speaking as a long-term professional, it's disgusting. Amateur. I have other words, but they would be censored, so I refrain from the vernacular, when I say, Apple and Logic is a veritable pile of canine excrement, right now. "Oh" , they will whine, " it's because everything is so much more complex now, with third party stuff". Yeah? Total testicles is my response. AU/ VST,etc., are standards. Tried and trusted(?!) templates to ensure consistency of results. Please, stop it.
Why am I sitting, like a dummy, waiting for the AU to complete in this Logic incarnation, only to be INSULTED, after several hours of unprecedented incrapitude, resulting in....? Logic 10.5.1 not even opening, that's what.
Very glad I came upon this forum to restore my diminishing sanity. I solved my problem. I had a recent Super Duper back up and simply dragged over Logic 10.4.8, to replace the ghastly 10.5.1. It opened immediately, thus making a total mockery of this joke of an "upgrade" and AU fiasco. So, I'll simply keep working with that, until Apple haul their lazy posteriors up to speed and fix this insanely dumb issue...
By the way, someone on this thread actually thanked Apple for fixing many bugs. Was this sarcasm?? Yeah, fixed dem nasty bugs, but can't actually open the stupid app to work. Jayhoos H Ridiculous.
Over and out, and thanks for sharing.
I just posted a response, and it got deleted within one minute. Here's the email explanation:

Pathetic. And offensive. Goodbye Apple. You cannot proved an answer, so censor those who are merely trying to point you in the right direction.
Updating from Logic 10.5 to 10.5.1 has caused what looks to be serious loading issues having to do with plug-ins as others have reported. I first got an alert box saying the Garritan Aria player and the Garritan CFX Concert Grand player have issues and they produced no sound. I did find an Aria Engine update from 6/12/20 that I installed. I did get sound from the CFX Concert Grand after that install but not the Aria Player. I also saw a yellow ( !) alert in the plug-in load button for Aria. Then Logic 10.5.1 started stalling with the endless beach ball while saying it was checking the plug-ins. I tried removing those Garritan plug-in components from the Components Folder but Logic 10.5.1 still stalled. Now Logic 10.5.1 won't even get as far as checking the plug-ins unless I do a restart after the beach ball stall. . I have also tried resetting the NVRAM and SMC. 2009 5,1 Mac Pro. Mojave 10.4.6. I have never had an issue like this with Logic Pro X since purchasing it in 2014. I also have a copy of Logic 10.4.8 that does work without issue.
