Apple TV remote touchpad not working after pairing game controller

This has been asked before but apple won't allow me to reply and instead suggested i 'start the conversation again' by starting a new thread. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250786856

My symptoms are exactly the same as the thread above, i'm using an Xbox controller for apple arcade gaming etc., which is supposed to be supported by apple.

The rest of the ATV remote works fine, just the touchpad is non-responsive until i reboot the apple TV.

This is daily occurrence, and i'm obviously not the only user with the problem.

Is there any resolution from apple for this behaviour?
