I am not able to connect to Macbook Pro via afp file sharing
I have a new Macbook Pro with Catalina.
I have file sharing on and set to share over
afp. I can connect to another Macbook Pro
on the local network from it just fine.
But I cannot connect from the other Macbook Pro
to this one. It does have a DCHP address assigned
by the router, as do the other machines on the local
network.
I get a dialog stating that shares are not available.
I have been using file sharing for some time without
too much problem. So I know to make sure that the
sharing is supposed to be over afp and not smb.
Is there something different with Catalina file sharing
that I might not be aware of?
One other issue is that I am looking over the list
of similar questions that pop up as I write in the
question. So I follow one of the links and don't
find an answer. THEN I try to get back to the original
page with the input field and list and CMD-[ (in
Firefox) doesn't step back to the former page.
Thank you for time and attention
