iOS 13.6 overheating and battery drain issues

I’m experiencing the same issue on my 7+ too.

I had my battery replaced by a new one while I was on iOS 13.3 two weeks ago. Everything was fine for a week until I updated to iOS 13.6 a week ago. My phone started Running hot draining the battery very fast that I had to do a restore from iTunes, set it as new and no restore from backup. That didn’t fix the issue. And my battery health went from 100% to 98% in just a week. This is a big issue.

you sure you updated from 13.3?? it should be 13.5 or 13.5.1. in 13.5.1 i had same battery health issue. it dropped from 100 to 97 in few days. now its maintaining at 97%. you try factory reset with no restore from backup. install all fresh. try.. try dfu restore than recovery restore..

My iphone X battery health dropped 3% after updated to iOS 13.6 , and during the day, when I leave the phone in my pocket, I can feel the heat from the phone, and when I checked it again, it has drained out all the battery.

I haven't seen anyone comment on my solution of just powering down your phones two times in a row immediately after unlocking the lock screen. I had all these issues if bad battery drain and overheating plus crazy cellular data usage. Try it it should work. Worked for me. All normal after this trick.

I bought the iphone 11 pro just a week ago and updated it to 13.6.1. After that the battery drain is serious. Just using 5 minutes of camera reduces the battery by 4%.

I have done every troubleshooting suggested by apple support...nothing works for me either.

IOS 13.7 is total crap.

my iphone 11 pro is just 1 month old and the battery can’t sustain for 2-3 hours.

In normal daily use just by sending 5 messages on whatsapp the battery drains by 2%, clicking 3-4 photos and the battery drains by 2-3%.

I am totally frustrated by apple.

while normal use, the phone heats up.

please apple don’t do this...it’s frustrating

Are you saying it is still "useless" after genuinely taking it down to factory status using a computer and not restoring the backup?

If so contact Apple Support for analysis and possible replacement under warranty.

I am checking again for battery drain problem as now it is eating 2 to 3% when turning off Wifi and in previous it was eating 4 to 5% battery, overheating issue is only occuring when using it heavily for 5 minutes or more other than this nothing else, everything is fine.

Hello i have an iphone 11 pro max , i updated to 13.6 some days ago,but the last couple of days i noticed strange battery life behavior.Yesterday i went to sleep with 75-70% and i woke up with 25%.In the settings says that the camera used 62% (i didnt use the camera at all),when i checked the usage in the time that i was sleeping it says that nothing was using battery.Anyway i charged my phone in the morning up to 95% , then i restarted it and it went to 100% .Anyone have any ideas?

Quite normal . you should expect 1% loss of battery health per month as normal

Then my wife's iPhone 11 is having some issue, she bought her phone 3 months before my iPhone SE, we both work from home, charge time and frequency is almost the same, usage is also similar but she did not upgrade to 13.6 and her phone battery health is 100% still while my SE is 98% right after upgrading to 13.6 (99% on the first day and 98% on the second day).

"I've had a major and sudden drop-off in battery performance with my iPhone SE which I bought just over two years ago and which I otherwise really like. Since iOS 13.6 has been installed, the battery life is a small fraction of what it used to be.

You seem try to alleviate the problem? Considering 13.6 was released just 2 week ago and battery health drop 1% (the first 1% of 2% in total is marginal, so I don’t count), with that speed, how long do you think one must have the battery replaced at 80% health? The expectation by Apple is 2 years or 104 weeks for 20% degradation. Oh, BTW, my 6s was very fine with 13.5.1, but now leaving it overnight, battery level drops more than 30% with no activity, screen off and all connections off. There’s no activity recorded in battery report but the graph shows a stiff fall.

With no apps running, I have 100% CPU utilization for 3 - 4 minutes after I do a reboot. 13.6 causes my BofA App to timeout. You are going to get poor CPU benchmarking with 100% CPU being used. It’s also what is causing the heat issues. Geekbench shows my CPU performance at half what is normal.

Same here on battery getting hot and then draining. I've tried resetting the network connection and it's persisting. The phone was just fully reset two months ago on the last IOS update, so I highly doubt it's because any weird info data lingering migrating to the new IOS. There's def something wrong with this version. As you can see - I even had the signal bar and battery missing for a moment on my home screen. It would show up everywhere else except the home screen. Anytime this issue happens or my phone gets hot, I normally will soft reboot it. Never had these issues prior to the update. I actually had issues with Bluetooth and car play prior and now that seems to be fixed.
