I no longer have a video option for my iPhone 11 Pro Max and the only way I can record is by holding my shutter button. Does this only affect the 11 series and any ideas to see if it’s just my phone? Should I go to my nearest Apple store and see what they say? Anything to help me sort this out or something like that please reply thanks.
Here is how I fixed this issue. 1. Open settings and click on camera. 2. Click on “Preserve Settings”. 3. Make sure “Camera Mode”, “Creative Controls” and “Live Video” buttons are green. Video button option returns
I, too, had my video disappear. I did everything suggested on here and it would come back and then disappear again. Actually, it only disappears when I am on an active call. Once you disconnect the call the video option appears again. After inquiring to my teenager about why this was happening, he said it's so that you don't record the conversation you are having?? I am not certain if that answer is correct, but I do know that when on an active call the video option disappears and when you disconnect the call it comes back.
Had same issue with my XR, just did a reboot and it good now.
I far as I have seen, the only thing that can be done is to restart your phone and your video option will appear.
This works! But how in the world are we supposed to know this! Our video choice disappears and is replaced with a press-the-shutter-button-and-slide-it-over feature unbeknownst to us.

Go to Preserve Settings in the camera settings section...You'll see it over there. Its an option YES, but still this solution didn't work for me so yeah...I mean I do have a video option now, cause it magically keeps on reappearing and disappearing again and again. The temporary fix is restarting the phone. Apple will prolly come up with an update soon which fixes this issue. (Hopefully)🤞🏻
Dude the only temporary fix is restarting your iPhone....Otherwise I just leave my iPhone idle for a few hours and the video option just magically appears on its own. I hope Apple brings up something in its next iOS update. And yeah the answer to your question, apple hasn't popped up in this chat yet to give us an official conformation of any of this. So yeah we can only hope for something. Nothing is official 🤷♂️
I have the same problem with my iPhone SE 2020 and my partner has the same problem with his iPhone 11 you can take a video by holding the camera button down and slide to lock to constantly video the problem is once you have taken the video and watch it back the video has no sound.

While in photo mode, hold shutter button down and drag it to the right where lock icon is. Drag back to end video.
Me too. iPhone 8 Plus. Upgraded to iOS 14 and there’s no video or slo mo option now.
I updated my iphone 11 to ios 14.2 and all of a sudden I don’t have a video option available on my camera app.

I have tried everything, and only restarting my iPhone XR works.....or after 2 or 3 hours of inactivity the video button magically appears. Not satisfied apple please FIX IT!!!!
