Blocked Third Party Cookies running OS 13.6.1

Just got an Apple Refurbished iPad mini 5 and thought I could use it to help me with work, but since it won’t run third party cookies that is not possible. Block all cookies toggle is turned off in the settings. Downloaded Chrome in case it was a browser issue and the same thing is happening. Unable to to load because it will not run third party cookies or a banner shows up to enable third party cookies, which of course is enabled. Pretty sad that we all pay so much for these devices and they will not even work properly.

Modern browsers are increasingly designed to inhibit Third-party cookies.

Third-party cookies are frequently abused by websites. Some of the more backward desktop browsers, such as Chrome, are not designed to protect your privacy (in fact, often quite the reverse) - although Google have recently indicated that they too will soon adopt the new standards and block this pernicious tracking and cookie abuse.

Safari, being a privacy focussed browser, in blocking third-party cookies, is working entirely as intended. You don’t have a fault; nothing is broken - other than the “bad” website(s) that force use of third-party cookies with intent to compromise your privacy. The best advice is to avoid such websites.

It remains possible, although not recommended, to allow third-party cookies. This is an advanced setting - that should only be altered if you know what you’re doing - and that you accept that you are deliberately removing a significant layer of security protection from your iPad.

Settings > Safari > Advanced > Experimental Features > Disable Full 3rd Party Cookie Blocking (ITP) - set to ON

This screenshot illustrates the default (secure) setting - where third-party cookies are blocked.

Again, I must stress that you change this setting at your own risk.

Subject to your understanding and acceptance of the clear warnings given, I hope this information is helpful to you.

Hi Jerdunca,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. Sounds like you are unable to view certain websites because you are not able to run third party cookies, do we have that right?

You mentioned that "Block all cookies" is toggled off in Settings, have you restarted your iPad since noticing this issue? Check out how to restart here: Restart your iPad.

Do you have this issue with several websites or a specific one? Does clearing out the history help: Clear the history and cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Do you have and content blockers enabled? Check out the steps in the article above under the section titled " Use content blockers".

You can also turn off pop up blocker in Safari to see if that helps. Check out how to do so here: About pop-up ads and windows in Safari under the section titled " Check Safari settings and security preferences"

Hope that helps!
