iMovie Transitions Missing

I had this problem with iMovie on my old MacBook Pro, (2013) and my new one (2020). In iMovie on my old Mac all of the transition options, except for the ones with the trees, disappeared. I downloaded iMovie for my new MacBook Pro, and they're all missing from there too, except for the one's with the trees. On my old computer I have a file in iMovie that I never added anything too, and when I open it up all of the transitions are in it. Every single old file, or new ones that I make have not option for the standard transitions. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Actually, all of the transitions have trees displayed in the transition's icon. There are 24 transitions. Move your cursor over the icons and you will see them displayed in the preview screen.

Here is what worked for me. I reset the system management control. When I do that the transitions come back in. They have disappeared at times but when I reset the system management control they come back in. That procedure is listed in one of the replies above. This seems weird but until they fix the bug, it seems to work for me. I have a MacBook Pro from mid 2011. I use Catalina OS X.
